Preface
I guess I’ve had writer’s block for forty years. This is no mean feat, as I’m only forty-eight
years old, but nevertheless, there it is. It took me until nearly my forty-fifth birthday to believe that
what I’m doing was real. Even six months ago when I wrote that message, a little cynical voice in the back of my monkey mind (as the Buddhists call it) accused me of falsifying the words, of making it up.
In any case, there’s nothing special about me. I’m just an ordinary woman who lives in a
small Southern town in the Bible belt. I figure if I can do it, if I can hear and channel Messages from
Angels, Ancestors, Spirit Guides, and sentient beings from other worlds – and apparently, I am
doing it! – then anybody can do it, too. I’m here to show you what’s possible now... and to be a living example of the next step.
The channeling started out as automatic writing, simply taking a pen and a notebook and
writing whatever came out. I found it helped to allow my eyes to go slightly out of focus so I
couldn’t really see what was coming out of the pen. I tend to edit on the fly! But this was different. The writing was smoother, gentler somehow. The words sounded more like poetry, or something you’d read in a historical novel, instead of my usual style of writing, although it was still familiar
somehow. I’ve always enjoyed writing, but this new form was a welcome change from my chatty
Christmas newsletters, action-packed blog entries, or formally-worded grant applications. This was like liquid.
I had no idea how to start anything, so I defaulted to that old-standby of the post-2000s
digital age – I Googled it. And when the thousands upon thousands of entries came up, I slogged
through the top five or ten, concentrating on the logistical parts I’m comfortable with: setting up a
