My work is based on two simple ideas: buildings can serve as a bridge between nature, culture and people, and that those inspiring surroundings have a positive effect on people’s lives.
Over the last years, i’ve been involved in different types and scales of projects including: commercial and industrial projects, educational buildings, exhibit design, interior design, places of worship and residences.
Looking always for the innovation I draft the projects considering the fusion of real and virtual space, raw materials and the research of new technologies applied to conceptual and builded work
DESCRIPTION:
ThisHotel is located onone of the Caribbean Sea’s most beautiful beaches, The building area of the project is about 1,000 sqm integrating the architecture, interior and landscape.
At the beginning , the owner put forward three requirements: assessing the possibility of save a previous design-construction, strict control of the investment and consider the environmental details of the place.
The landscape and the architectural space have provided constant sensory stimulation to the guest from the moment they ride on walk into the hotel area. In the design of the entry sequence, the nature trail feelings are extracted from the landscape in order to create a unique visual environment and sequential spatial experience for the guests.
DESCRIPTION:
Design of all the axe throwing-bar locations in several USA-Canada locations. The interior design combines wood, concrete and other raw materials to create a rustic, reclaimed feel mixed with modern fittings.
DESCRIPTION: The masterplan includes private villas and boutique oceanfront rooms with a lot of amenities, giving them an openness and lightness appropriate to the Caribbean environment.
DESCRIPTION: A sense of unpredictability is achieved through hidden doors and movable screens. Walls of frameless glass, hung with sheer drapes, create a seamless visual and physical relationship between the living room and garden.Marble, volcanic stone, and timber, together with an earth-tone palette, add to the sensation of inside-outside continuity and a feeling of unlimited space, while large windows provide views of the ever changing landscape.
DESCRIPTION:
Thishouse’s design gives the space the perception of being largen than actual square meters of construction. Each one of the proposed spaces was designed with the premise of “Stretch the lines of sight”. Generous mezzanine heights and double heights emphasize the perceived spatiality. This factor also contributes to the design and positioning of windows and skylights, this feature not only helps to enlight the space, but also block the negative views of the environment, framing the spectacular views of the natural environment. The simplicity of the exterior volume reflects the introverted attitude of the project: closed to the outside world, open from the inside.
The finishes alternates in a game of contrast that articulates the interior and exterior design: from the pure white of the walls to the dark tones of steel, through stony tones floors, terracota tones of the kitchen walls and the natural wood tones in furniture, decks and pergolas.
DESCRIPTION:
Design of several pavillions at UAE’s most exclusive malls such as Mall of Emirates, Mirdiff city center, the Dubai Mall, Bawadi Mall, Abu Dhabi mall, Khalidiyah mall and IBN Battuta.
Each one for a different type of expo: financial, real state, travel agencies, regular and luxury cars.
Thedesign for an enthusiastic client was a challenge. As there is only 35 m² for the 4-person family, the space has to be divided carefully. It’s divided into an great room combination (living-dining), a small galley kitchen, a bathroom, bedroom and a sleeping loft.
There is also a small D/W closet, two built-in bookshelves, one built-in desk and a dining table made from the scraps of the reclaimed hardwood flooring.
There’s storage space in built-in cupboards in different areas as well as under the raised floor. It has a standing seam, metal roof, cedar board-and batten siding and a tiny integral porch. The interior is all knotty pine. The vaulted ceiling is 4.75 m tall at the peak.
DESCRIPTION:
Interior design for the common areas (lobby, hallways and cafe). The design reinterprets the region’s heritage in a contemporary way. The materials used include glass, brushed bronze, polished clear stones, cream travertine flooring, venetian stucco walls, handmade rugs, and serpeggiante marble walls.
The lobby opens onto an elegant light-filled cafe of rich, exotic wood, glistening white terrazzo, an energetic sculpted ceiling and finely crafted detail.
Located in a 40,000 plus square foot area the house meanders back and forth creating a series of courtyards, outdoor spaces and meaningful living. The result is a house filled with light and connections to the outside and surrounding woods. The intent was to create a new structure with an illusion of history. Custom handmade details are throughout including the doors, trim, trusses, handrails and ironwork.
DESCRIPTION:
All the design was developed in one level around an articulated central space and the pool terrace connecting the interior with the backyard.
DESCRIPTION:
The whole project is one large volume with a flat roof, and we use it to create a roof garden. The design helps to bring privacy to the exteriors and the living, kitchen or family room can create bonds with the environment.
DESCRIPTION:
The design bridges the urban an d topographical qualities of the island. From the interior entry lobby the experience of the beach landscape. The units are designed as series of interlocking volumes arranged around a compact central core. The facade of the building is inspired by the textures and lights of the environment.
Allmost all usable spaces in the building have potential views, as a result of the recessed walls and the heavy use of glass pannels. With facilities such as a library, students suppor spaces, labs, etc the space creates a holistic educational experience.
Interior design of three floors on 575 Lexington av building. The most relevant part of the job was the creation of 360 degree panoramic views, used with oculus rift and samsung gear to show the potential clients the space options of the place.
The main access to the house is through a narrow-flat corridor. When you open the door the living room embraces you with a huge light bath showing the garden. Huge NaNa walls helps to transform the living into a open terrace connected to the green areas vanishing the limts between interior and exterior.
One of the main challenges was to integrate the idea of the client and the natural environment of Antigua. The views are the main protagonist but are reinforced with materials, colors, scale and shapes. The materials were selected to work on many levels: pragmatic reasons (such as built form, availability and remote construction), their aesthetic associations (vernacular style, natural context or expectations of luxury) and to expand spaces. This was reinforced by a palette sampled from close examination of the surroundings.
Neiborhood center placed on one of the premium areas in Orizaba. The client requested an specific design to integrate with the surroundings.
Thedual nature of the project give us a double material config. The exterior side is the urban-street face with steel and an industrial design. On the other side the sourrounding mountains are reflected with the woods and horizontal rythms on the elevation.
Full renovation, interior design and furniture proposal of an abandoned house.
Design of a five-units resort combining gray stone and brazilian wood. The irregular floorplan shape is justified due to each unit must have a view to the Atlantic Ocean.
Abandoned two-story house was fully renovated keeping low costs by making just a few changes on the inside like the stairs and remove the dividing wall of the kitchen.
Design of pod sleeping units that are combined into one large container and provides features such as power outlets, alarm clock or TV. Can be used in airports, train stations or anywhere you need accommodation options.
Mediterranean style house, designed with double heights to display hunt trophies and open spaces to combine it for family reunions.
