Annastasia, CEO of Brilliant Minds Foundation, is half British and half Greek and was living between the United States and Sweden when the couple first met. At the time, Cristian, a businessman, was dividing his time between his hometown of Italy and Dubai. It seemed fitting, then, that their romance began on an airplane. Cristian first laid eyes on his bride-to-be at Arlanda Airport in Stockholm, as they were boarding a flight to Amsterdam. Annastasia explains: “Cristian is connecting with his family in Venice and I am connecting with my family in Athens. “Cristian saw me at the gate and luckily we sat next to each other on the flight. We connected immediately and had our first official date 10 days later under the Duomo in Milan.”
Last month, the couple exchanged vows in a similarly majestic setting, the 16th-century Cavalli Palace in Venice. Annastasia wore a Roksanda dress for an intimate ceremony for a small number of guests, followed by a black-tie dinner at St. Regis on the Grand Canal - a logical choice, since it was the scene of Cristian's proposal. The bride recalls: “We returned to the room after the Vivaldi concert, and Cristian filled the room with red roses and romantic handwritten
