Her top tip for a quick trick-or-treat nail transformation? “If you just want to commit to a Halloween manicure for the day, you can create a nail art design using nail polish over a classic gel polish. Once the event is over, you can easily remove it with acetone-free nail polish remover.” Just because it’s Halloween doesn’t mean you have to go completely bloody. Turns out, Ghostface from Scream looks pretty cute in pink. “My most requested Halloween designs tend to be spiders, cobwebs, horror movies like Scream, and anything that looks like blood,” says artist Marbles Valdez, owner of MVZ Beauty Studio on the Lower East Side.

Valdez's work, which combines kawaii cuteness, oversized decals, and colorful prints, isn't afraid to make the statement you want this time of year. Her go-to colors for spooky nails are green,
orange, black, and purple. "I love Valentino and Madam Glam nail polishes." Her tip for making your nails last longer after you put away your pumpkins? Opt for an abstract color. "Sprayed nails in a fun, spooky palette are super cute for the holiday and can be worn long after Halloween is over!"

Not sure where to start, try blood on your nails, that is. “When it comes to my most requested Halloween design, it’s definitely blood,” says California-based nail artist Laysa Cazares. London-based artist Metta Francis, aka Nailsbymets, agrees and loves to switch it up with fun designs, from ghosts, graveyard scenes, and carved pumpkins to a classic blood drip nail that uses a deep, rich red as the accent color; Cnd’s Oxblood is a great choice here. For her own nails this time of year, she likes to strike a balance between the two. “I like something a little spooky that can be worn after the day is over, like a stiletto or a long, dark red and black almond-shaped nail.”
