The Four T-shirt

Barbiecore was impossible to avoid last summer, with Valentino’s hot-pink shade everywhere on the red carpet. And now with Greta Gerwig’s Barbie movie starring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling hitting screens in July, the trend is set to enjoy another resurgence in the months to come. In fact, it seems that even Kate Middleton, Princess of Wales, can’t resist this summer’s candy-pink mood. The royal stepped out for an engagement at London’s Foundling Museum wearing a pastel-pink suit from Alexander McQueen, which she paired with a matching blouse underneath and a pair of white pumps (a shoe choice that’s become a new summer staple for Kate). Finishing off the look? A statement white belt featuring a pearl buckle that’s reminiscent of the kitschy accessories worn by our favorite Mattel doll.

Unsurprisingly, the 75-year-old’s outstanding beauty hasn’t dimmed her tousled locks appear practically untouched and her dress code remains reliably marvelous. Here, Alibashirt documents Stevie’s wonder years, below. The Somali-born model Rawdah Mohamed has made it her mission to make modest dressing more exciting. In the process, she has masterfully chipped away at misguided notions about conservative fashion by showcasing the hijab as a vehicle for

personal expression, not repression. While attending the Cannes Film Festival on Thursday, Mohamed turned heads in a Robert Wun couture outfit that was not only an exciting modest gown, but one of the coolest ensembles to walk the red carpet today period. The double-sided satin dress and face-obscuring silk organza veil features trompe l’oeil scorch marks and flamekissed edges. The ensemble is less run-of-the-mill red carpet attire and more evocative of a horror film heroine at the end of the movie. Wun aptly calls the design, which featured in his spring 2023 Paris Fashion Week show in January, “The Scorched Bride.”

That would be Dutch model Karen Mulder, who burst onto the scene in the early ’90s. Born in Vlaardingen, the Netherlands, Mulder was signed by the Elite Paris modeling agency when she was just 15-years-old, after she won a modeling contest she saw advertised in the newspaper. By her second year with the agency, Mulder had already begun walking for all of the major international fashion houses such as Versace, Christian Lacroix, and Yves Saint Laurent. Her calling card? Her tall 5’10 frame, blonde hair, and blue eyes, which made her resemble a “reallife Barbie” something many fashion and catwalk fans continue to refer to Mulder as today.
