The bride walked down the aisle to Peter Gabriel's “Book of Love.” Afterward, the groom says things got a little hazy. “I don't remember feeling anything but pure bliss. Everything was perfect and I was just 100 percent present, soaking in every second of it,” he says. “Manisha had the most touching vows, which I loved.” After they kissed, the two danced back down the aisle to Kanye West's “Gold Digger.” “Whether it was awkward or not I'm not sure!” Manisha says. “But it was great. I could hear Chris giggling behind me.”
She entered the ceremony under a canopy of flowers in the Indian tradition of phoolon ki chadar. Typically, it is carried by the bride’s brothers however, Manisha is an only child. So Chris’s siblings made their entrance. “I was really moved to see them all dressed in Indian attire, embracing my Indian culture, waiting to walk me down the aisle with their brother. Right before we started walking, they told me to take a deep breath and that they were here for me,” she says.
The couple then held their reception at Fari Marina Village under a grove of palm trees. The bride changed into an ivory corset dress by Hermione de Paula that she found and had custommade a month before the wedding. (“Crazy, I know,” Manisha says, praising her bridal stylist, Anny Choi, as “the kindest, most creative person”). She then pulled her hair into a half-up ponytail. “It was so ’90s, so fun. I loved it!” Manisha says. Throughout the dinner, a string quartet played, only stopping when friends and family made speeches. The live band started, then the dancing began and never stopped. “We had an after-party that lasted until 4 a.m. despite a mild tropical storm and we all ended up at the pool to finish it off,” says Chris.
