The two teams faced off in Week 10 of the regular season, with Steubenville Catholic Central winning 28-14.
The second semifinal matchup will feature Clyde taking on Van Wert. Clyde is led by quarterback Jack Morrison, who has thrown for over 1,800 yards and 20 touchdowns this season. Van Wert is led by running back Ethan Goodwin, who has rushed for over 1,200 yards and 15 touchdowns. The two teams have not played each other this season.
The winners of the two semifinals will advance to the state championship game, which will be held on Friday, December 6, at Ohio Stadium in Columbus. The state championship game will be a rematch of last year's championship game, which Steubenville Catholic Central won 28-21.
