Pasta, being an integral part of the Mediterranean diet can be consumed freely, as they are made out of cereals which belong at the base of the nutritional pyramid. The myth that pasta is fattening has been proved wrong by th scientists, as it is no more fattening than any other food. The carbs in pasta are complex and are the optimum energy source our bodies need, while the pasta proteins are more than in other carbohydrates.
