It has rated sixth in the inner west for overall liveability according to a study from DOMAIN. Compared to other nearby suburbs, the population density of Rozelle is relatively low. With the upcoming Sydney Metro infrastructure, we would expect more population to move to this area. Situated near the coastline has made it a favorable tourism attraction and could see a high potential in turning the WBPS into a vibrant place to visit

Premier Dominic Perrottet suggest that the power station is a “shocking building” that “should be knocked down” ... The Sydney Morning Herald This absurd statement demonstrates a deep ignorance of Sydney’s history and of the Government’s obligations under planning legislation.

• The power station is exceptionally significant as the only one retaining machinery and equipment from before the 1950s, demonstrating the process of electricity production and it’s use throughout Sydney’s extensive rail network. The building should be conserved as it demonstrates the course, or pattern, of cultural or natural history in New South Wales.

The connection to the past, present and future. “An opportunity for building intergenerational and intercultural connections in the context of an increasingly layered, heterogeneous, and changing society” (Francesca Lanz, 2018) The continuity of tangible attributes e.g. materials and form, and “functional authenticity” as well as the intangible attributes such as the “language, feeling and spirit” ( Roha W. Khalaf, 2020) LAYERED layered context and memorable experience with moment of reflection to the “contemporary and cultural social values, debates and aspirations (Laurajane Smith, 2006). ”
