BRANDING AND FULL PROMOTION FOR GREEK EVENT ‘PANIGHIRI’ jun -

Panighiri is the largest greek event in Latin America. It atracts national media coverage, and this year’s edition made an appearance in the Greek TV. With a public of over 2000 people, this 8th annual edition had the support of local sponsors and the Greek Embassy.

The job consisted on the creation of a full brand for the event, including logo design, as well as all promotion content, not only in social media, but also printed products such as posters, banners and flyers. It also involved creating all the printed support material to be used on-site, ie. different scales menus, plaques and sponsors promotion, as well as merchandising products.

On this project, I had the support of an assistant, which provided me great insight on the logistics of working as a team, and collaborating on several designs whilst prioritizing a large workload on a deadline. Most of all, it provided me invaluable opportunity to experience the full development of a larger size project, from branding to printed products.

In this project, I’ve enjoyed working with bold, contemporary colour palettes in an effort to make the usually institutional, member-focused events appeal to the broader, younger public outside of the Community, which was the main purpose of this night party.

GRAPHIC DESIGN FOR THE GREEK COMMUNITY OF BRASÍLIA

I’ve been commissioned to do a rebranding and all the marketing material for the Greek Community of Brasília, including their monthly drive-thru events and 6 annual national holiday celebrations. The challenge was to appeal to a larger public outside of the Community members - by adopting a more contemporary style whilst relating to the previous visual identity, which was requested by the Board. I’ve particularly enjoyed being able to work with type in different alphabets, using typography as the main composition element.

URBAN PLANNING GRADUATION PROJECT

University of Brasília, 2017

My graduation project in Architecture and Urban Planning required several formats of presentation, including a large size banner and a brochure book. I’ve explored graphic design and illustration throughout the project, as well as data visualization through diagrams, icons and maps. The theme of my utopian project was to imagine Brasília as a park-city, by developing public spaces and creating a network of alternative transport modes inspired by leisure transportation.

Plans and graphics were produced using Illustrator and Photoshop rather than conventional architectural programs in order to obtain more aesthetically refined graphics. Layouts were produced in InDesign. Base maps and 3D models were created on AutoCAD and SketchUp.

I’ve extrapolated my architectural requirements, and enjoyed producing illustrations and collages to visualize this utopia. My work was inspired by the 1960s work of vanguard group Archigram. Not only they created several utopian projects, but they heavily relied on captivating collages to present their ideas, and blurred the line between graphic illustration and architectural representation. While studying them as a reference, graphic presentation was a key part of my project.
