High School Juried Exhibition
Guidelines 2016-2017 The only juried exhibition on Long Island that offers high school students the opportunity to show their work in a museum This prestigious juried exhibition features works of art created by Long Island high school students in grades 9-12, based on artwork shown in The Heckscher Museum of Art during the 2016-2017 school year. Approximately 80 works of art in various media will be exhibited in the Museum galleries March 11 through April 9, 2017. Prizes are awarded in several categories. All exhibiting students and their art teachers receive a complimentary copy of the exhibition catalogue featuring images of all artwork and student artist statements. All exhibiting young artists receive a Certificate of Exhibition and the art teachers of top award winners receive Outstanding Teacher Awards. All submitted artwork will be featured in a DIGITAL DISPLAY in this year’s exhibit!
The Museum would like to recognize the hard work and exceptional talent of all of the students who participate in Long Island’s Best. Images of all submissions that are not selected for exhibition will be shown in a digital display in the Museum for the duration of the exhibit. (See inside for details.)
