A Warrior’s Guide to the 2022-2023/5782-5783 School Year One School. One Community.

Our History It all started in 1947! Rabbi Alexander Sender Gross z”l, our first head of school, and several families founded Hebrew Academy. Seventy-five years ago Rabbi Gross and the founding families made history by creating the first Dati Tzioni (Modern Orthodox) Jewish Day School south of Baltimore. Their combined efforts and dedication enabled Hebrew Academy to grow from a handful of students to a school that nurtures and educates hundreds of students each year.

About Hebrew Academy Mission Statement Through the light of Torah and academic excellence the Hebrew Academy inspires each and every child to improve the world.

• Love for Torah and all mankind.

• Ability to think, inquire, investigate, and learn.

The Hebrew Academy Warrior is a symbol of all that our students embody:

• Future Jewish leaders.

2 Hebrew Academy Parents: About Us At the Hebrew Academy you will encounter a vibrant and diverse community dedicated to educating children who will become our community’s Jewish leaders. We take great pride in meeting the needs of the whole child, which is why athletics, drama, music, technology, and visual arts are part of our curriculum. Still, the neshama (soul) of Hebrew Academy lives within our mission to light up the world through Torah, kindness, and our commitment to menschlichkeit, and Medinat Yisrael.

• Confidence to be themselves.
