Q: What has our school board been working on in 2022?
Q: What are the details and the timeline for Bellaire Elementary's new facility?
A: We broke ground for the Bellaire Elementary rebuild on October 18th. The new campus will accommodate 900 students and has a footprint of just over 98,000 square feet. Furthermore, the district even took time to work with the City of Hurst and the community to ensure that the new facility complements the surrounding neighborhood. However, here is the best part! The Board even worked out a land swap agreement with the city to seal the deal.
A: Our Board of Trustees has been hard at work this semester and much of that work has been centered around our district's Strategic Plan. See the district's Strategic Plan here.
Moreover, our board has also spent numerous hours reviewing and evaluating:
Q: What insight did you glean from your community Listening Tours?
A: We have an AMAZING school district and the data we collected from the Listening Tours served to reinforce this sentiment.
and security procedures
Teacher retention strategies
Legislative priorities for our state legislators.
They have even completed an extensive study of our aging facilities.
For instance, every group we polled greatly values our district's culture of diversity and inclusion. In fact, the word "diversity" was used over and over again to describe the strength of HEB ISD.
Q: What were some of the other common words or phrases people used to describe HEB ISD?
A: Many people used the words "community and staff" for describing why our district is special.
Something else the Listening Tour really helped coalesce was where our stakeholders want to go in the future. That is to say, I see BIG things happening in HEB ISD's near future.
