Conducted in both English and Cantonese, the seminar attracted over 40 attendees with nearly half being Chinese and many being new members as well. They all found it an interesting and practical night.

Race Result 賽事結果 The highlight of the evening was the live demonstration of the start sequence. We moved our flag rack off our committee boat and into the venue and had our most experienced visual flag officer Mikey simulate the start procedures of the Winter Saturday Series races. The audience got the chance to watch the change of flags with sound counting from ten minutes, five minutes, four minutes, and one minutes before start, the signals for individual recall and general recall as well as the signal for the finish line with time for questions in between.

The key message of the seminar was that race management volunteering is all about teamwork and having fun. We hoped the seminar helped to educate the audience on how rewarding race management can be.
為義工而設 極具娛樂性和實用性的賽事管理講座 2016年12月1日晚上，我們在花園酒吧為有興趣了解 更多帆船賽事和擔任白沙灣遊艇會義工的會員舉辦了 賽事管理研討會。 研討會以英語和廣東話進行，吸引了超過40人出席。 當中有一半是華人，也有許多新會員出席。他們都認 為當晚非常有趣而且實用。 當晚的重點是即場示範起步程序。我們把旗幟架從委 員會艇搬到會場，由我們最經驗豐富的旗官Mikey模 擬冬季周六系列賽的起步程序。觀眾有機會看到更換 旗幟的情況、倒數10分鐘、5分鐘、4分鐘、1分鐘直 至起步、個別召回和全體召回的訊號，以及終點線的 訊號等，期間有不少出席人士提問。

Racing Rules of Sailing 2017 – 2020 2017 – 2020 國際帆船競賽規則 Updated every four years, the Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS) 2017 – 2020 is in force commencing 1 January 2017. You can now buy a print copy from the Hong Kong Sailing Federation (HKSF) at our Hebe Sailing Centre subject to stock availability. A soft copy can also be downloaded from HKSF website (www.sailing.org.hk) or World Sailing website (www.sailing.org).
