WELCOME TO THE GREEN ENERGY
SPORTS GROUND FOR TONIGHT'S CLASH AGAINST BRIGHOUSE TOWN.
We weren't great on Saturday but it was a professional performance. We battled it out after going two goals up - the damage was done. We just had to manage the second half which I felt we done really well.
There were some great individual performances - I thought our centre-backs were phenomenal. Everybody put a shift in and confidence is great. We've played better than that but the main thing was the result and we've now got six wins in a row.
We've moved Joe Walton further forward on the right and he's doing really wellhe's getting goals and assists.
Tom Devitt has played excellent at right-back for us as well, competition for places is good.
We're delighted with the four clean sheets in those six games - Shaun Newbrook has been quality all season and is finally getting his rewards.
Olly Martin was struggling with his hip last decided Nathan go and he look I'm exc
what he can bring. We've got James Harrison and Liam Murray as well who we prefer to use off the bench when teams are tired. Brighouse will be a tough game today. We know all about Vill Powell's side, they're young and hungry - last year they had a great run in the second half of the season and just fell short of the play-offs. They've started slow this year but Vill will have them up for it - it's another home

BACK HOME AGAIN TO FACE
We played well in the first half on Saturday against Bridlington Town.
I felt we were the more dominant side - we got at them and created a lot of chances. We started playing long in the second half which was slightly disappointing - we just needed to get the ball down. All in all, it was a good win and a nice three points. Going 1-0 up early was a good start and lifted the lads - it was really
BRIGHOUSE TONIGHT. positive for us. I was pleased to get an assist on my debut - I wanted a goal as well but I'll settle for the assist. The lads have welcomed me in and helped me grow in confidence as a player. Bobby wanted me to get on the ball and drive at the full-back.
The pitch was a bit tricky and it's a lot more physical than youth football but I'm getting used to it and i for me. Today w anothe game a
Brighouse Town. My aim again today is to get at the full-back, create chances, and hopefully get a goal or assist. The main thing is three points though.

Young midfielder Dylan Archer has been called up to England U18 Schoolboys next month.
The 17-year-old, representing Durham FA, impressed during trials over the last few months. Archer will link up with the camp in February before competing in the SAFIB Centenary Shield, which is played throughout March and April.
The home nations, along with the Republic of Ireland, will compete for the trophy. England's last success in the competition came in 2017 as it was shared with Northern Ireland. Archer has continued to train with Hebburn's firstteam this season while playing in Northern League Division Two on a dualregistration with Sunderland West End. The youngster also had a
brief spell with Crook Town in the Northern League's top tier. Meanwhile, Lewis Rutherford and Ben Glendinning were recently called up to represent Durham FA from our U18 side at Eppleton.

MATCH REWIND
Hebburn made it six consecutive wins on Saturday with Joe Walton and Amar Purewal goals.
Possession-based Bridlington fell victim to their own gameplan when keeper James Hitchcock mistakenly rolled the ball into Walton’s path, who slotted home with ease to break the deadlock. The next chance came on 25 minutes, when a strong period of possession was followed with Arron Thompson slamming a long shot off target for Hebburn. Purewal got his 11th of the season in the 37th minute, meeting Nathan Simpson's cross at close-range after good work from the on-loan Middlesbrough winger. Bridlington were quiet until the hour, when Ali Aydemir
went on a mazy run before striking the crossbar from 20-yards.
Hebburn midfielder Liam Murray entered the fray and almost got on the scoresheet immediately, but Hitchcock was equal to the driven shot from the edge of the area.
Hitchcock later spilled Walton's free-kick in the sixyard box, but cleared the danger before Murray could latch on for The Hornets.
Thompson received treatment as the clock ticked down, but no more chances were in the offering for either side. That victory has extended Hebburn's winning spree to 56 days, keeping us fourth in the table.

AN INTRODUCTION

BY DAVID COULTHARD
We take a look at tonight's opponents, Vill Powell's Brighouse Town.
Brighouse were formed in 1963 as a works team for Blakeborough Valve Company, before adopting their current name 25 years later following the company's demise. They originally played in the Huddersfield Works League, winning the title four times during their 12-year tenure, but moved into the West Riding County League in 1975.
In the season following their name change, Town secured promotion from Division One to the Premier Division and went on to win that title five times in little over a decade, as well as winning the West Riding Challenge Cup in 1992. The 2008/09 season brought promotion to the
NCEL Division One with a further promotion to
the Premier Division in 2010. Their most recent promotion was in the 2013/14 season, which saw Brighouse reach step four for the first time in the club’s history. In the 2018/19 season, Brighouse won the play-offs but were denied promotion as only five of the seven winners from step four went up, based on a points-pergame ratio. Powell, who has been in charge of Brighouse since 2017, signed a three-year deal this summer as he looks to rectify that promotion-chasing heartbreak.

Brighouse Town secured a point on the road with a 1-1 draw with Lincoln United at Ashby Avenue on Saturday.
Brighouse took the lead four minutes prior to the break when Jack Steggles saved Jack Boyle’s effort with his foot, but Mohammad
Qasim was able to tap home at the back post before the keeper was able to get across to the loose ball. Lincoln levelled the scoreline on 57, when AJ Adelekan brought the ball down on the halfway line, burst forward, and after playing a one-two,
he finished well into the bottom corner with his left foot. Lincoln almost secured all three points late in the game, but the ball rebounded off the crossbar, much to Brett Souter’s relief in the Brighouse goal.

Daniel Moore's first league game in charge resulted in a dramatic climax as The Hornets came from behind. 1-3
With the heat having an impact, chances were limited throughout the first half in Yorkshire.
After the break, Hebburn should’ve levelled as Liam Henderson muscled off the defender and slipped through Liam Murray who tapped home, but the referee believed the offside Amar Purewal had intervened.
On his debut, Bradford City loanee Bobby Pointon broke the deadlock for Brighouse after the hour.
The forward latched onto Callum Charlton’s pass and slotted past Shaun Newbrook at close-range. The Hornets then had two penalty shouts as Murray and Henderson went down, but the referee waved play on.
With 74 on the clock, substitute Sean Reid got

Hebburn’s equaliser after Murray sensationally worked the ball across goal, giving the midfielder a point-blank header.
Three minutes later, Murray got his goal as Purewal’s header was clawed into the youngster’s path at close-range.
Martin made it 3-1 on the 82 mark, latching onto Purewal's pass after he intercepted the ball in the final third and finding the bottom corner. The Hornets stayed resolute for the final knockings, ensuring Moore's first league game ended in a win.
It was also the club's firstever victory over Brighouse, after two defeats last season.

PLAYER SPONSORS PUREWAL ON RECENT FORM
Amar Purewal says the last few weeks have been his best yet at Hebburn Town.
The forward scored his 11th goal of the season on Saturday afternoon at home to Bridlington Town. That's exactly one goal every two starts for Purewal, and the first time he's hit double figures for The Hornets since joining in June 2020. And there seems to be no
slowing down. The striker has netted in our last four consecutive league games. He has faced calf and hamstring problems this campaign, but as long as he stays fit, Purewal is full of belief in his own ability.
"I'm over the moon at the minute," he stated.
"As long as I'm on the pitch, I back myself to score - I was really disappointed not to
get a goal against Whickham in the cup so I was eager to get one on Saturday.
"This is the best I'm playingthe manager is giving me a lot of confidence and I'm feeling really good. "I'm getting more chances since I'm playing as the number nine and those are the goals that I'm pleased with, around the six-yard box."
Purewal's goal at the weekend came in the 37th minute when he stabbed Nathan Simpson's cross home at close-range. With Joe Walton also scoring in the early stages, Hebburn were left to absorb pressure and fight out the 20 victory.
"It was a tough game but a good win," Purewal reviewed.
"We done enough to grind it out - we looked really strong defensively and Shaun [Newbrook] didn't have many saves to make.
"The early goals helped a lot and meant we didn't have too much to do in an attacking sense.
"We pressed quite well - the first goal knocked myself of guard if I'm honest but it was excellent by Joe." With six wins on the bounce, Hebburn are straight back in action tonight at home to Brighouse Town.
"Brighouse is always a tough game," said Purewal.
"It'll be about who wins the battle - they'll be ready for a scrap so we need to match them."

Our U23s welcome Benton to The Green Energy Sports Ground on Saturday (1:30pm kick-off).
Gary Henry's outfit were in action last week, suffering a tough defeat to Winlaton Community in the George Dobbins League Cup.
"Last weekend was not like us at all," he explained.
"We had no energy, looked flat and effortless at timeswe were really disappointed.
"We played Benton in preseason and they were a good outfit - they joined the Northern Alliance in the summer and will be another tough test.
"Hopefully last week's defeat and the words we had in the changing rooms can help spur some life back into the squad.
"With another good week of training, we can hopefully put it behind us."
Benton are currently league
leaders in Northern Alliance's fourth tier, but have tasted defeat in their last three games.
"It will be a tough test and we'll treat it like any other game," Henry said.
"Everyone who comes to Hebburn sees the facilities we have and raises their game.
"Benton will be no different, coming with the same attitude they had in preseason and will provide us with a hard challenge.
"We'll need to win our individual battles all over the pitch to get anything from game."
Henry will be hoping to have a full squad to choose from, as forward John Murray is fighting through a niggle.
Central midfielder Matty
Robinson could also return after having an operation in December.
