The 22-year-old joins from Whitby Town, where he has played 19 times in the tier above this season. Comfortable at left-back or in midfield, Hackett came through the ranks of Sunderland and made his senior debut in the EFL Trophy against Morecambe. After a loan spell with The Seasiders, Hackett permanently moved to Whitby in August 2021 and has made 76 appearances in total. He made his Hebburn debut on Saturday against Bridlington Town in midfield, playing the full 90 minutes. "I'm buzzing to be here - it came around quite quickly, " said Hackett. "I spoke to the gaffer and automatically I didn't want to be anywhere else - I'm raring to go. " Meanwhile, James Paylor has now departed the club. The defender moved to Hebburn at the end of October and made two appearances from the bench. Paylor joins Northern League Division One side Redcar Athletic with our best wishes for the future. 11
