FROM THE DUGOUT
DANIEL MOORE
Saturday was an emotional day - I told the lads how much we believe in them. They just needed to go out and believe in themselves. At half-time, it was the first time I've lost it. We dominated the game - Shaun Newbrook didn't have a save to make and we came in 1-0 down. I wanted to see a bit of desire and the pleasing thing was, we could've scored four or five in the second half. We put our foot on the gas and I was so proud of them. Some people don't realise, this isn't
how lads make a living - they have work to do and care about football a lot. It affects them personally and mentally so it was great to see how strong we've been. To a man, they were all brilliant because it's easy to let confidence go at 1-0 down. We've had a tough run so it was nice to get a win, but at the end of the day, it's three points in a long season so we can't get carried away. We've g that as for our home g We're p bring Ja

We're still in the play-offs with the run we've had because teams have dropped points - that's football. We've got to maintain the basics and grow in confidence - I'm sure we'll have a bad performance in coming weeks but hopefully the

EVENING - THANKS TO EVERYONE READING TODAY'S
DIGITAL MATCHDAY PROGRAMME.
Hopefully Saturday's win at Bridlington Town will bring us some confidence. The lads were buzzing. Over the last few weeks, we've not been at our best. We weren't good enough in the first half but in the second half, it was much better. We closed the gaps down, played better football and exploited them down the wings.
Shaun Newbrook pulled off a great save at the endwe haven't had the
luck lately but on Saturday we did. We allowed them to have a bit too much time early on so we pressed higher and they struggled to get around us.
At half time we spoke about sticking together and that's exactly what we did.
I was pleased to get the goal but I was happier with the three points, especially with the run we've had. The aw all seas been cl when w rut, the

NOTICEBOARD
Hebburn Town are delighted to announce the signing of Jake Hackett on a 28-day loan deal.
The 22-year-old joins from Whitby Town, where he has played 19 times in the tier above this season. Comfortable at left-back or in midfield, Hackett came through the ranks of Sunderland and made his senior debut in the EFL Trophy against Morecambe. After a loan spell with The Seasiders, Hackett permanently moved to Whitby in August 2021 and has made 76 appearances in total.
He made his Hebburn debut on Saturday against Bridlington Town in midfield, playing the full 90 minutes.
"I'm buzzing to be here it came around quite quickly," said Hackett.
"I spoke to the gaffer and automatically I didn't want
to be anywhere else - I'm raring to go."
Meanwhile, James Paylor has now departed the club.
The defender moved to Hebburn at the end of October and made two appearances from the bench.
Paylor joins Northern League Division One side Redcar Athletic with our best wishes for the future.

Martin and Joe Walton helped Hebburn Town to a first league win since October on Saturday.
The Hornets were made to pay for missed chances on 41 minutes when, with Bridlington’s first chance of the game, Andy Norfolk’s free-kick from the left found Lewis Dennison in the box, who thumped a header into the top left-hand corner.
The visitors restored parity shortly after the break, however, after a Joe Walton cross from the right found Olly Martin in the box, who looped a header over James Hitchcock into the back of the net.
Hebburn took the lead with 20 minutes to play, when Walton broke away on the right, going one-on-one with
the keeper and firing into an empty net.
The lead could have been extended moments later, when Martin had an effort which was not fully cleared, with the ball falling to Liam Henderson in the box but the forward failed to capitalise, sliding the ball wide.
Jake Hackett then slid the ball across goal on 80 minutes but the hosts managed to scramble clear. Bridlington came close to an equaliser at the death with left back Will Sutton firing an effort which Shaun Newbrook did well to turn over.
Sutton was then shown a straight red card for a late challenge trying to keep an attack alive at the death.

AN INTRODUCTION
PLAYER SPONSORS
BY DAVID COULTHARDToday's visitors, Carlton Town, were established in 1904 as Sneinton FC. They played in the Nottinghamshire Football Alliance, winning three league titles within six years of their formation. That was the extent of their silverware until winning the third tier in 1985 and the second tier in 1993, by which time they’d moved to their current home, now known as the Bill Stokeld Stadium. They went on to gain promotion to the Central Midlands Football League in 1995.
In 1998, Sneinton were promoted from the CML Premier Division to the Supreme Division, and in 2001 were denied promotion to the Northern Counties East League due to ground grading requirements.
The following year they changed their name to
their current guise and won the CML title.
The Millers achieved further elevation in 2006 when they reached the Premier Division, and they made it back-to-back promotions as they made it to step four for the first time in their history.
Carlton won the Notts Senior Cup in 2013, 2014, 2017, and a win against Mansfield Town U23s in 2022 brought their most recent triumph.
They’ve remained at step four for the last 16 years, with a couple of league reorganisations along the way, including their move to the Pitching In Northern Premier League East Division this season.

Carlton Town suffered a defeat on home soil as a Tobias Liversidge hat-trick inspired a 4-1 victory for Lincoln United. The Whites got off to a perfect start when Liversidge fired into the top corner in the first minute, before doubling the lead
on 21 through Matt Cotton, who converted at the second attempt after seeing his initial effort blocked. Kyle Tomlin halved the arrears four minutes later, firing home from a narrow angle, before Liversidge finished off a Lincoln break when finding the
bottom corner on 41 to restore the visitors’ cushion. As the game entered the last five minutes, Liversidge completed the treble when his cross looped into the net to ensure the points were heading back to Lincolnshire.
PLAYER SPONSORS REID ON RECENT FORM
Sean Reid says the squad always believed in themselves after ending a five-game winless run.
The Hornets had only picked one point from our last five league games before Saturday’s trip to Bridlington Town. The hosts went ahead in the first half at Queensgate, but Olly Martin and Joe Walton scored to give Hebburn a hard-fought win.
“The performance was dominant,” reflected Reid. “At half-time Bobby [Daniel Moore] had a few words and the lads stuck together to turn it around.
“It was a huge response in the second half - we’ve not won in five league games so confidence was low and we were determined to put things right.
“We’ve got some fantastic players and we’re better
than the majority of teams in this league, but it just wasn’t going our way.
“Collectively we weren’t finishing chances and made too mistakes that led to easy goals, so we’re really proud of that second half performance.”
Hebburn were fearful of dropping out the play-off spots, but Saturday’s victory leaps us into fourth place.
“The win will be massive for us,” Reid said.
“Don’t get me wrong, we’re a confident group no matter what due to the quality we have in our team.
“The mood was a bit down after recent results though that victory will hopefully provide a platform to build off.
“We believe in ourselves - we had an excellent run at the start of the season and we’re confident of getting back to that.”
Reid has been utilised as an attacking midfielder and target man for The Hornets,
however Moore decided to shuffle the pack at the weekend.
For the first time at Hebburn, the 30-year-old slotted into the backline alongside Jack Donaghy for the full 90 minutes.
“I’m happy to play wherever I’m needed,” he commented.
“Bobby knows I can offer something going forward, but there’ll be times I have to do a different job.
“I’m happy to fill in at centreback and use my experience, the only thing that matters is the result.”
Attention now turns to three home games for Hebburn -
- the first being Carlton Town tonight.
“We need to make our home ground a fortress,” Reid added.
“We want to make it a horrible place so teams fear playing us - we should be even more confident than Saturday at Bridlington. “The pitch will start to come into affect with the weather so that may hurt opposition teams as well. “Carlton are making a long journey up so we’ll get right at them and fingers crossed, build some momentum.”
Reid also hailed the supporters and hopes to reward them at The Green Energy Sports Ground.
“Fans are huge at this level,” he said.
“All the players and staff appreciate the support - the away fans on Saturday got right behind us. “They’ve stuck with us in recent weeks despite poor results so they deserve a few victories at home. “We’re good enough to get into the play-offs, and hopefully the support from everyone will drive us there.”
