It was a good, solid performance last weekend at Consett. We had a good share of the ball. We could've used it better, but we went with a gameplan and it worked. We made one change with Robbie Spence coming in for Sean Reid due to the surface. I thought we were solid in units, but individually some of the lads were superb. It can be a difficult surface to play on, and we knew if we pressed them high then we could pinch the ball in

good areas. That happened but we struggled to get the final pass right in the first half. In the second half, we were nice and solid - they had a share of possession but it was in their own half. We've seen Liam Henderson improve over the last few weeks and get back to his best - he looks sharp in training and I'm pleased for him to get two goals. I want to give a special mention to the supportersnot just Saturda the star season. They ha us in nu

been a brilliant boost to the team so thank you. Long Eaton are a good footballing side - I know a bit about them from being down that way. We're at home which will make a nice change we can't let any team come to our house and implement their gameplan. It's got to be about us - we've got to continue our great individual performances which will help us collectively.

It was a good result on Saturday afternoon away from home at Consett.

A 2 0 win, clean sheet and another three points - we keep rolling on. Consett are used to playing on a 4G pitch but we train on it, so it's about doing things right. It's about getting in the right areas and creating chances. Lucky enough, we did that and walked away with the three points. You have to take points over

It was another three points closer to where we want to be. We're not getting carried away but if we keep doing our job, that's all we can do. We have to worry about ourselves and nobody else. Hebburn Town are pleased to announce the signing of towering defender, James Paylor.

The six-foot-five centreback, who can also play at left-back, joins following several years in USA and Australia. Last season Hartlepool-born Paylor represented Mandurah City, though he has previous Northern League experience with Tow Law Town. After gaining international clearance, he will be eligible to make his debut this afternoon against Long Eaton United. "He's a big lad and left footed," stated first team manager Daniel Moore. "He'll bring extra depth to the squad which we needwe've gotten through the last few weeks with only 15 or so senior players. "He doesn't want to be a squad player, he wants to

play regularly and competition for places will be great."

Paylor commented: "I'm over the moon to join.

"I wanted to get straight back into it when I returned home and I was delighted to speak to Bobby [Daniel Moore].

"It's a top club with a lot of history, hopefully we can make a bit more."

Daniel Moore's side claimed a third consecutive away victory last weekend at Consett.

Hebburn pressed well in the opening stages but Consett created the first chance, with Cyril Giraud driving into Shaun Newbrook’s gloves. Joe Walton’s cross was spilled by Consett keeper Ross Coombe on 35 minutes, and a defender had to clear it out for a corner before The Hornets could pounce. The resulting set-piece was put in by Wayne Phillips, allowing Liam Henderson to head into the back of the net from close-range. The hosts were fortunate not to be two goals down at half-time after Calvin Smith tripped Henderson inside the penalty area.

Consett had a good opportunity to find the equaliser on 52 minutes as former Hebburn full-back Kieren Aplin crossed to Zak Atkinson, who nodded wide at the back stick. At the other end, Phillips stung the gloves of Coombe from a dangerous free-kick 20-yards out.

With 57 on the clock, Atkinson again headed off target before Moore’s side found a second through danger man Henderson. Amar Purewal flicked his strike partner through, and he unleashed a scintillating half volley last Coombe for his brace.

Dan Groves’ free kick then whistled past the far post, despite Purewal’s best efforts to divert it home.

We take a look at Long Eaton United ahead of our first competitive meeting. Long Eaton United were founded in 1956 and have played at Grange Park ever since. Their first five seasons were in the Central Alliance League, before joining the Midland League in 1961. Long Eaton won the Derbyshire Senior Cup in 1965 and again in 1976, beating Alfreton and Matlock Town. They remained in the Midland League until a merger with the Yorkshire League made The Blues founder members of the Northern Counties East League in 1982. A spell in the NCEL Premier Division following promotion was short lived due to ground grading requirements, and by 1989 they were moved down to the Central Midlands League. They promptly returned to

Premier Division two years later. They remained there until they were reassigned to the Midland Football League in 2014, although this time it was a lateral move. After a more recent reshuffle meant the club moved to the United Counties Football League Premier Division North, Ian Deakin’s side were crowned champions at the end of last season and moved into the NPL for the first time in their history.

Long Eaton currently sit 17th in the Pitching In Northern Premier League East Division with 10 points from their first 12 games of the season. Deakin's outfit are currently winless in 10, with only one clean sheet in league action. the NCEL in 1992 and were promoted to the

Long Eaton United surrendered a lead to lose 2-1 at Cleethorpes Town on Tuesday night, in a game where Craig Swinscoe took change with Ian Deakin unwell. After a goalless first period, Long Eaton took a 57th minute lead through Micah Jebbison, who

controlled Tom Marshall's pass before firing home through Tom Jackson's legs. With 20 minutes to play, Cleethorpes drew level when substitute Curtis Bateman poked home from close range, and he almost gave The Owls the lead when

striking the bar moments later. The turnaround was complete on 78 when Declan Howe powerfully drove beyond Aaron Bott to give Cleethorpes all three points, with Nottingham Forest youngster Bott having made some fine saves beforehand.

Hebburn Town have enjoyed three away victories on the bounce without conceding. Following our Isuzu FA Trophy exit at home to Warrington Town, Daniel Moore's side secured Durham Challenge Cup progression away to Horden CW. Moore handed Gabriel Bada, Daniel Field and James Harrison first Hebburn starts at Welfare Park. Olly Martin netted a penalty in the second half, and Liam Murray followed up with a driven strike from distance to win 2-0. The Hornets will host Jarrow in the second round at The Green Energy Sports Ground. Hebburn then travelled to Ossett United where chances were limited. Murray converted a spectacular solo effort

and two home players were sent off with 30 to go. Moore’s side couldn’t find a second despite having two extra men, but The Hornets held on to the 1-0 victory regardless. The following week, Hebburn met Consett for the first time since the 2020 FA Vase Final. The visitors looked sharp at Belle View and got our reward as Liam Henderson headed in a corner.

Hebburn Town are saddened to report senior club secretary, David Patterson, has stepped down from his voluntary role with immediate effect. David, who has fulfilled one of the most important roles within the club for almost nine years, steps down with heavy heart. With our recent on-field success and subsequent promotion, the secretary role for a non-league club relying on volunteers can take a lot of time and effort. After speaking to the club's Senior Leadership Team, David has made the right decision for himself with his ongoing work and personal commitments. David will remain a member of the club's committee, and is dedicated to continue the support of the club's success and progression in whatever way he can

moving forward. Chairman Vin Pearson stated: "Dave has been a magnificent servant. "He has been ever-present and he has always been meticulous in the job that he does. "We fully understand his decision to step down and we look forward to him coming in a capacity where he can spend a little more time watching and enjoying the games."

Operations Manager, David Thomas, has agreed to take on the role of secretary moving forward with a short handover period over the next few weeks.
