Kevin Bolam's side started the brighter as Amar Purewal's cross, intended for Tom Potter, was picked up by Connor Bell who smashed past the post. Matty Grivosti took on Tom Devitt just before the halfhour, stinging a shot to Mark Foden who tipped over. Paul Carden's outfit drove forward again with 40 on the clock, however Josh Amis' strike was neatly saved low by Foden. Two minutes later, Michael Richardson's corner fell to the feet of Purewal, but it would be stand-in rightback Olly Martin who fired over inside the area. Martin played a deep cross for Purewal who, after taking it down superbly, skimmed the back stick after half-time. Warrington's opener came as Jack Mackreth latched onto the end of Dom Reid's pass, calmly finishing into the back of the net on 58 minutes. On 63 minutes, Hebburn came inches from levelling as Purewal troubled the Warrington backline with a driven cross, but a last-ditch block somehow sent Bell's effort over the bar. Within 10 minutes of his introduction, Stefan Mols tucked home Mackreth's rebound to make it 2-0 to the away side.
