Jason Blackburn came off the bench to score at the death to give Scott Oliver's side three points in Northern League Division One action. Current Hebburn shotstopper Shaun Newbrook was in between the sticks for the visitors, while Daniel Moore started the game. The opening move of the fixture came as Shildon captain Aidan Heywood drove an effort past Andrew Jenninson's post from the edge of the area. Gary Shaw teed up Michael Richardson for Hebburn at the other end, but the midfielder fizzed over at close-range. Richardson later looked to become provider, whipping in a free-kick from the right which Robbie Spence nodded over. Player-manager Moore came close on 15 minutes, but Shaw cleared his headed effort from a corner off the line. Matthew Robson was denied twice by Jenninson, but Nathan Steel got the opener after the hour one-on-one. Thirteen minutes later, Louis Storey latched onto Spence's pass to equalise, while Moore was sent off for dissent. In the dying seconds, Richardson's pass was misjudged by Heywood and Blackburn fired into the bottom corner to clinch the win.
