GOOD EVENING AND WELCOME TO TONIGHT'S GAME AGAINST MY FORMER CLUB, SHILDON.
It was a solid performance on Friday but we started the game quite slowly. In the first 20 minutes, Stockton pinned us in and had a few chances to go one or two up. We said to the lads, playing a top-ofthe-league side, we need to put our bodies on the line and that's what we did. The opening goal settled us down and allowed us to play a little bit. Olly Martin then got his second and it was a great finish - I get frustrated with him because that's how good he can be. We expected them to come out in the second half and us to go backs against the wall, but it didn't happen like that. Amar Purewal's goal was welltaken and calmed us down because 2-0 can be a strange scoreline. Shaun Newbrook deserves more than one clean sheet so it was a shame we couldn't get that in the end. I thought Arron Thompson was excellent because he was going out and pressing. Something like that triggers the whole team to work hard and I thought everyone was fantastic across the pitch. We're definitely looking forward to tonight's game against Shildon. We'll see their supporters and have a pint after the game, but it's all about getting the result because that's what we need to push up in this league.
