





Thehydraulicsystemofacranecanbecome contaminatedveryrapidlywhenacomponentinthe systemfailsandbreaksup.Thecontaminantsfromthe failedcomponentmustberemovedfromthehydraulic systembeforetheycausefailureofothercomponents inthesystem.Toremoveasmuchofthecontaminants inthesystemaspossible,thefollowingprocedureis recommended.
Hydraulicoilisunderpressureandmaybe hot.Asuddenreleaseofhotoilcouldcause burnsorotherseriousinjury.Shutdownthe engineandexhaustalltrappedhydraulic pressurefromthesystembeforeremoving anylineorcomponent.
1.Relieveanypressureinthehydraulicsystemand drainthehydraulicsystemoilfromthereservoir. FollowtheprocedureasoutlinedinOperators Manual.
Solventsandcleaningsolutionscanbe hazardous.Seriouspersonalinjurymay resultfrommisuseoftheseproducts.Read andfollowallthemanufacturers recommendationsconcerningsolventsand cleaningsolutions.
2.Thoroughlycleanareatobedisassembledwithan approvedcleaningsolventtopreventcontaminationfromenteringtheoilcircuits.Allowtheareato airdry.
3.Remove,disassemble,clean,andreassembleall hydrauliccomponents.(Controlvalves,cylinders, motors,etc.)Refertotheappropriatesectionof ServiceManualforspecificremovalandreconditionprocedures.
4.Disconnectallhydrauliclinesanddrainasmuchoil aspossible.
5.Installallthehydrauliccomponentsonthecrane andconnectallthelines.Refertotheappropriate sectionofServiceManualforspecificinstallation procedures.
6.FollowtheproceduresinOperatorsManualto changeallhydraulicoilfiltersandrefillthehydraulic reservoir.
7.Startthecraneandinspectallconnectionsfor leaks.
8.After50hoursofoperation,allhydraulicoilfilters mustbechangedagain.RefertoOperators Manualforthecorrectprocedure.
