Thisdocumentincludesthefollowingprocedures:
WheelAlignment
Theseproceduresarepotentiallyverydangerous. Theyrequirenofewerthanthreepeopletoperform. Onepersontooperatethesteering,onepersonto maketheadjustments,andonepersontocarefully watchsonoonegetshurt.
DANGER
Useextremecautionwhenoperatingthe cranewithsomeoneunderthecarrier.The hydraulicforcebehindthesteering componentsiscapableofseverelyinjuring anyonecaughtinthesteeringlinkageor trappedbehindatire.Postasignalmanto watchcarefullytoensurethesafetyofthe personunderthecarrier.
Thebestwaytocheckforproperalignmentisby evaluatingthestraightnessofthecranestrackingon thehighwayandinspectingtirewear.Ifthecrane travelsstraightdownthehighwaywithoutdriftingto onesideandthetiresshownoabnormalwear,the alignmentshouldbecorrect.Ifthetiresarenotwearing correctly,thefollowingprocedurecanbeusedforan approximatealignment.Toachieveahigherquality alignment,lasertypealignmentequipmentshouldbe used.Consultaprofessionalalignmentservicefacility ifnecessary.
Note:Wheelalignmentshouldbeperformedon eachaxleindependentlyandthensynchronizedby adjustingthesteeringlinkage.
1.Parkthecraneonafirmlevelsurface,shiftthe transmissiontoneutral,andengagethepark brake.
2.Levelthecraneonoutriggers,andreleasethepark brake.
3.Ifequippedwithairridesuspension,movetheair rideswitchtotheUpposition.
4.Shutdowntheengine.
5.Checktheairpressureinthetiresforproperinflation.
