Post Band Fill Instructions

1. For the first 48 hours following a band fill, drink a protein shake every 3-4 hours as a meal. Maintain hydration by drinking at least 48 ounces of (10-15 calorie beverages) in-between protein shakes. This will allow time for the swelling from the band fill to decrease. 2. Following the 48 hour protein shake diet, start with a Âź cup of soft food like tuna fish, scrambled eggs, chicken salad or crab salad. Advance food volume slowly. 3. Eat a small baby spoon bite and chew well. Eat slowly to find your band line. 4. Signs you have found your band line and need to stop eating are as follows: a. b. c. d.

The food feels like it is creeping upward. The pouch will cramp slightly. The nose starts running. Hiccups.
