Tourism Alliance 2011-2012

New Mexico Golf Destinations (NMGD), also known as the New Mexico Golf Tourism Alliance, is a non-profit collaboration of New Mexico golf courses, lodgers, the Sun Country Section PGA, the Sun Country Golf Association and the New Mexico Tourism Department. Its mission is to introduce the world to New Mexico as a golf destination and provide potential visitors with accurate, reliable information. Any New Mexico golf course, lodger or tour packager is eligible to participate. New Mexico Golf Destinations is proud to announce its location and management has moved into the Sun Country Golf House (home of the Sun Country Amateur Golf Association and Sun Country Section PGA). As a non-profit organization, this move will enhance the productivity of New Mexico Golf Destinations and influence the region’s goals of growing the game of golf in New Mexico. Booking Golf Vacations

New Mexico Golf Destinations will follow-up with interested groups at Expos, website and phone inquiries with building packages based on their budget and the time of year they plan to visit New Mexico. In the upcoming 2011 season, the plan is to create a matrix of nine different sample packages based on two distinct factors: 1. The time of the year/season the attendee is planning his or her vacation: • Winter Season: push toward Southern New Mexico destinations • Spring/Fall Season: push toward Central and Eastern New Mexico destinations • Summer: push toward Northern New Mexico and high elevation destinations 2. The second factor is to match the season of interest to the attendee with the price point at which the attendee is willing to entertain: • Economy • Mid-Level • Deluxe These two different factors allow the NMGD to offer packages that apply to every part of the state and numerous different types of lodgers throughout the area.

Demographics attending Golf Expos/Booking Golf Vacations:

By attending the chosen Golf Expos, NMGD will hit specific areas of the country that are interested in visiting New Mexico as a golf destination. Additionally NMGD will hit the following demographic*: • Median Household Income: $80,000 • Median Age: 35-54 • 65% of attendees plan on taking a golf vacation in the next year *Demographics are based on averages of attendees that went to the 2010 Denver Golf Expo, Michigan Golf Expo and North Texas Golf Expo.
