Love the Lakes If you ’Love the Lakes’ as we do then here are a few things that will help maintain its beauty: Keep refuse to a minimum and use the correct receptacles provided. Be kind to wildlife Remember to turn off the lights, close windows and doors before you go out for the day.

Keep dogs on a lead and pick up after them.

Make a trip to the local recycling centre with your rubbish.

Park up and enjoy our local transport, cycle paths and bridle paths.

Keep heating to a minimum whilst you are out during the day.

We trust that you found your property to be clean and fully functional on your arrival. Whilst every effort is made to ensure your holiday goes to plan we appreciate that on occasions things do go wrong.

In the first instance you should contact our office who will endeavour to help wherever possible.

As we use mobile phones the signal is not always available in the area. However we are available to take your ‘live’ call at the times above. At all other times there is an answering machine to take messages, so please leave as much detail as posssible regarding the emergency and with a return phone number if available. As soon as the message is received it will be actioned.

Please remember we want you to enjoy your holiday too. Please do not wait until the end of your stay or after you have returned home to report a problem or raise your concerns.

‘Our Man at the Top’ One of the greatest pleasures in the Lake District is walking the fells. Inevitably, all those feet take their toll on the landscape and dedicated teams are employed to maintain the miles of footpaths.

To help fund this vital repair work, we created the innovative ‘Our Man at the Top’ project, under which the sum of £1 was donated from every week booked with Heart of the Lakes.

So successful was the scheme that from 2005, the figure was upped to £2. As you enjoy the unique Lakeland landscape, you know that together with Heart of the Lakes, you are playing a crucial part in conserving its fragile beauty.

Thanks to your help, we at Heart of the Lakes are now contributing substantial annual funds to this vital work.
