I am the drummer, nature watcher, Disney lover, a musician and actor. I like everything about Asia, the Hall of Institution, but I do love all of the Midsummer Mysteries shows. I love listening to bagpiping and Greek music.
Ryan has a love for all things sports. He is a powerhouse on the kickball field and basketball court at HEART. Ryan has an intensity and focus when we works. One particular drawing style of his involves meticulous line work with geometric shapes.
Andrea is a seasoned performer, appearing on stages across the country with multiple theater performance groups. Andrea is always eager to dive into projects and performances.
Daphne brings humor to the studio every day. She knows how to catch us off-guard with a clever joke or a slighted comment to bring immediate laughter. Daphne is a clever actress and incredibly charismatic. She loves bright colors and uses them to her advantage with her lively and energetic artistic style.
Kassie Leigh first met HEART through her performance at the Acting Workshop led by HEART at the Goose Creek Therapeutic Rec. Kassie Leigh graduated from Charleston Southern University where she gained experience acting for the camera in her News Media courses.
A proud Uncle to his niblings, Uncle John enjoys spending his time with family, working at Harris Teeter, and serving with the Knights of Columbus. When he’s not making art, of course.
Mikel is a singular and memorable actor. His favorite activity is to rock a drumset and he aspires to be a rockstar. Mikel likes to know what activity is happening next, telling jokes, drawing, music and performing.
Liz loves sports (especially Clemson), Disney, art and everyone she meets. Liz is very helpful and smart. She knows what is going on everywhere at HEART and keeps us all on our toes.
Thomas embodies a character from the first moment he reads the script. He lights up when the stage lights come on. In his free time, Thomas is an avid comic book reader and gamer.
Joey lights up a room with his enthusiasm and friendliness. He is a talented masseuse and would rub shoulders all day long if he could. He is a talented artist and thrives while performing on stage. Joey describes himself as a “cool man ” .
Bryce is an incredibly creative thinker and his art reflects a multitude of fandoms - often cleverly combined into one cohesive piece.
Eliza is a gentle soul who has a shocking theatrical side. Eliza is a talented artist with a graphic designer’s eye. She is funny, playful and up for anything that comes her way. Eliza captures the heart of everyone she meets and truly shines on stage. Eliza describes herself as “perfect”.
Austin’s favorite activities are swimming and going for walks at the park. He is very helpful and always willing to offer support to staff and peers. Once you ’ ve heard Austin’s blissful laughter, you’ll never be the same.
A talented and robust performer, Christian is often the face of HEART. He represented Charleston's 1st Disability Pride as its spokesperson for many local news outlets. He is a train enthusiast and vocal supporter of Fun Facts.
Porter's performance shell cracks just a little more and more each time he's on stage with HEART. He's a deeply funny man and a diehard sports enthusiast. He's never met a puppy he didn't love!
Chris Peery (Oracle at Dodona)
Chris is fun, attentive and a big prankster. He enjoys visual art, heavy metal music and WWE. He has a great sense of humor and loves to exercise and practice yoga. Chris likes to remind us that his favorite color is black and his best color is yellow.
San Ruther (Citizen)
As an artist, San is full of color and loves the repetition of letters and words. As a person, she loves giving the deepest, most loving hugs and making everyone happy. She is an enthusiastic dancer and performer to boot.
William Simmons (Narrator/Sphinx)
William always lights up the stage and screen! He was one of several HEARTists who appeared in Halloween (2018) directed by David Gordon Green.
Sara is a force, a triple threat on the stage and an ace artist. She infuses fresh energy into the Studio's chemistry. We are thoroughly convinced there is no art that Sara can't do - and enjoy!
Karen Weikel (Citizen)
We all adore Karen’s witty and playful disposition. She loves making art, performing and most of all — CHEESECAKE! Karen finds great joy in bantering back and forth with her peers. If you ever need a good laugh, Karen is the person to run to.
Cassie Williamson (Danippe)
A creative and free spirited visual artist, who comes from a family familiar with the "Biz". Cassie also loves to sing and act all around her community. She frequently writes imaginative stories and "role plays".
Nathan Willoughby (Oracle’s Voice)
Nathan is outgoing, confident and exudes charisma. He has a positive attitude and is up for any activity that comes his way. He is a multifaceted artist and excels in acting, drawing and writing—specifically poetry. The darkness fascinates him and is the inspiration for most of his creative endeavors. He considers himself “wicked cool, man ” .
Ryner Burg (Deck Chief)
Ryner is the Studio glue, a.k.a Activities Facilitator.
Mel Walker (Oracle’s Voice)
Mel is the Performing Arts Director for HEART. She serves as the Music Director for this production.
Rae Weekes (Citizen)
Rae is the Artistic Director for HEART. She also serves as Deck Hand in this production.
Sierra Garland is the Executive Director of HEART. She also serves as the Stage Manager for this production.
