Sponsorship Pack 2022 Registered Charity Number: 514775

Who are BHBNradio? • BHBNradio was founded in 1952 by Hon. Alderman Mrs Freda Cocks OBE as the Birmingham Hospitals Commentaries Association (BHCA). • BHBNradio broadcasts to the patients at the Queen Elizabeth, Women’s, City, Heartlands, Good Hope, Solihull & Royal Orthopaedic Hospitals. The station is a registered charity (charity number: 514775) and exist to make a patients stay in hospital be as good as it can be. • Our Online listener base was vital during the Covid19 pandemic as the only way a patient in Birmingham’s Hospitals could reach a family member or loved one. • BHBNradio also broadcast online via our website at www.BHBN.net and on our own and FREE to download mobile Apps on IOS and Android. • We provide a mixture of popular music, local and important Health News about the Birmingham Hospitals as well as interviews and the national headlines. • We love interviewing local people which includes our Birmingham Hospitals Healthcare Heroes, politicians, but also ordinary folk who have a story to tell. • However, we have also had household names on air such as Brian Blessed, Jeffrey Daniel from R&B Group Shalamar and Leee John from Imagination to name but a few. • We are actively involved with the Birmingham Hospitals Community and provide an outside broadcast at the Annual Great Midlands Fun Run, attended by 2,800 people.

What our listeners say

My stay in hospital was very boring, until I found BHBN on the Hospital Radio next to my bed. I thought I would tune in and give it a try... I find it great as they play music I enjoy and made the time go that little bit faster! My favourite show is BHBN Gold with Colin Monnaf, and I also enjoy the Elevator Zone with Bubba the Loungehoun. BHBN sport is also handy pn Saturday afternoons as it keeps you updated. I tune in around the early evening if I’m not too tired.

“ “

All in all, I would advise anyone to try it and give them a call, as they are always willing to play your requests! Listener Katie

I listen to BHBN online after being introduced to the show by my aunt, who contributes to Monday’s Good Vibrations programme. I really enjoytunign in to the Light Lunch programme too. Well donw guys!

Listener Mary from Great Barr

I was introduced to BHBN Hospital Radio quite some time ago by Donna Joseph, my neighbour and one of the station’s presenters. I am 89 years old and have not been able to get out of the house for several years. Hospital Radio is now my constant companion on the Internet - I listen every day to something often at 4- 5 hours at a stretch. Everyone is a favourite. I would just like to say to all the presenters, and others involved, is thankyou all. They do a wonderful job.

Listener Phillip A former patient at the Birmingham Hospitals, he now listens regularly to BHBN Hospital Radio from his home
