Highland Music School offers private and group music lessons for all ages. All of their faculty are degree holding, certified music teachers with years of teaching and performing experience. The highly qualified music faculty also direct or perform in monthly and seasonal recitals as soloist or in a group setting and are available to hire for weddings and events. Highland Music School students also perform in recitals and concerts as part of their learning curriculum and for community service. 12-1: THE FUNK WARD The Funk Ward was formed in 2019. Founders Jeff Ward & Dr. Jose Diaz had a concept to create a group based on their admiration for funky, instrumental and jam-inspired tunes. They could be classified as a funk/groove/ jam band with a hint of jazz and soul. Their mission is to inject a cover band that brings something new to the Metro East & Southern IL Regions. We aim to play tunes that make the audience want to jump to their feet and dance, even if they’re not familiar with the song. The band features Ward (Drums/ Vocals) and Diaz (Bass), Rodney Miller (Percussion/Vocals), Michael Dye (Guitar) and Tim Compton (Keys/Horns/Vocals.)
