A lively group of people have gathered on the south side of Joliet to plant the seeds of better health and well-being. The Joliet Health Coalition is a group of people who work together to make life better for people in Joliet. They do most of their work outside, in a garden that looks nice and grows fresh veggies. This green place grows healthy food and makes people feel more connected to the food they eat. As another new project from the Joliet Health Coalition, this one is for kids after school. It's known as "Food as Medicine." The point of the program is to teach kids how great it is to eat vegetables they enjoy in order to stay healthy. Beyond just eating vegetables, the coalition wants kids to love them. To do this, they plan to give them hands-on activities that are both fun and useful.
