HOW TO RECOVER from ills and chills
Your immune system is your internal defence system and acts like a protective shield against invaders that can cause seasonal ills and chills. Once the immune system detects an invader, it mounts a response to fight it off; when you feel lousy, it's a sign that your body is working hard to combat whatever has come your way. It is normal to continue to feel tired and somewhat out-of-sorts, and this is simply because your body has been challenged and is needing time to recover, clean up and replenish what has been lost. During this recovery phase, it is important to nourish our bodies and prioritise rest so we can return to baseline wellness and be better prepared for the next round.
There are three things to keep in mind when you’re feeling you're in recovery mode:

Rest as needed
Our stress hormones help to defend ourselves in times of immune-stress. Post-illness, our bodies go into recovery mode, and stress hormones deactivate to continue to encourage us to rest, even after the battle is over.
Restore your resources
Fighting winter bugs takes lots of resources that need replenishment. Double-down on nutritious whole foods and take extra immune nutrients to replenish what has been lost.
Take it easy at the gym
Exercise stress is good for our body, but not when we are still in recovery! We need to reserve the resources we have left for recovery after fighting seasonal ills or chills - so hold off on using any extra energy or resources to hit personal bests in the gym, and reserve them for cleaning up the aftermath.
