Zoë says, “To get depth to my redheads, I use different shades of the same colour, so the intensity is deeper underneath and illuminating towards the top. I recently had a baby and since then my hair has become thinner and I am losing a lot of hair when I wash and brush it. What can I do to stop myself losing more? Anna, from Wimbledon The hormonal changes after pregnancy can mean you experience hair loss. Also, during pregnancy, women do not lose hair at their normal rate, which is why hair feels so much thicker and healthier. However, after pregnancy, this hair does fall out, which can be really distressing. I would recommend that you try the Kérastase Aminexil programme (£99, available from Headmasters salons). I’m thinking of dyeing my blonde hair dark like Hilary Duff but am worried about looking ‘washed out.’ I am aiming for a result that looks natural and glossy rather than gothic. How can I find the right shade for me? Kirsten, from Putney For a big colour change like that I would recommend going to a salon for a professional result. Make sure you have a full consultation first and be careful about going too dark, because if you are not happy with it, it might be difficult to reverse. My advice would be to go darker gradually and maybe keep a few lighter brown pieces in there so it’s not too much of a shock. I would also book in for a make-up consultation, too, because a complete change of hair colour will mean you will also need to change your make-up. I have wavy shoulder-length hair and would like a fringe, but I am not sure if my hair type means I can’t go for it. It’s October 2007 and L’Oréal Professionnel have jumped ahead of the game once again by launching play ball as its own serious fun styling brand. In early August the play ball team found a couple of sunny days in rainy London to take James Busby from the Headmasters Art Team out on the town for an edgy shoot on location. “The shoot location was pretty cool actually ...the atmosphere was really great.” James was asked to work on one of the male models, Jack, to create a fresh textured style, perfect for the typical play ball client.
