As HDJ quickly looks back on 2024, we are filled with pride and gratitude for the incredible work we've accomplished together. HOMEWOOD SUITES

Holland, Michigan

Nestled in the heart of scenic Holland, Michigan, Hilton's newly opened Homewood Suites represents the perfect blend of comfort, convenience, and modern design. Whether catering to business travelers or families on an extended stay, this 123 - room, four -story hotel delivers a home - away- fromhome experience that sets a new standard in hospitality.

HDJ is proud to have been the Architect of Record for this exciting project, collaborating closely with Hospitality Specialists, Inc. and Visser Brothers to bring the vision to life. HDJ provided ground- up, new construction architectural and engineering services precisely following the Prototype and Hilton Brand Standards by “Hilton.”

The HDJ team delivers architectural services to Sprouts Farmers Market grocery stores throughout the United States. HDJ is truly inspired to partner with Sprouts Farmers Market, a leading national grocer and one of the largest and fastest growing specialty retailers of fresh, natural and organic food in the United States, operating over 400 stores nationwide. HDJ project leadership efforts include new build-to-suit (NBTS) projects and modifications for existing properties (EBTS).

Mitten Kids Dentistry

Grand Rapids, Michigan

Mitten Kids Dentistry is a pediatric dental practice operating out of this new childfocused haven for dental care. The entire first floor of the building, spanning 7,000 square feet, is dedicated to young patients. The dental office includes 23 exam rooms, a laboratory, a storage and sterilization area, and non-clinical offices, all thoughtfully designed with children in mind. Additionally, there are two restrooms, lockers, a staff lounge, and a welcoming reception area to ensure a comfortable experience for children and their families. From the outset, the designers at HDJ understood that creating a friendly and comfortable atmosphere was crucial. The overall atmosphere needed to be fun and colorful to help children associate positive feelings with their dental visits. To accomplish this, the spaces were decorated with vibrant colors, interactive activities, comfortable lighting, and plenty of windows to allow natural light in.

HōM Flats Development Brand

The HŌM Flats development brand successfully bridges the gap between LIHTC and market rate developments, creating a welcoming community. HŌM Flats, developed by Magnus Capital Partners, is more than just highquality housing at an affordable price; the developments are a haven for people and communities to grow together. HDJ is proud that it has been with Magnus Capital Partners since its inception to develop and grow the HŌM Flats brand. The HŌM Flats workforce living brand makes every inch count through purposeful design to improve the entire residential living experience. HŌM Flats properties include apartments designed for comfort and quality living. Amenities include fitness studios, resident cafés, playgrounds, outdoor dog parks, and remote workspaces. Community engagement also plays a key role by offering fitness classes, financial literacy sessions, and special events to ensure all residents feel involved. These successful developments are redefining affordable housing by creating vibrant, thriving communities.

Michigan Ohio

Westlake Heights

Bozeman, Montana

Westlake Heights, developed by DevCo Residential Group in Bozeman, Montana, addresses the increasing need for affordable housing. HDJ is providing architectural and engineering services for this exciting new development. With a mix of residential apartment types, the development is suitable for individuals and larger families by providing ample living and amenity spaces. The final design reflects the natural beauty of the surrounding mountains and peaks. Exterior colors were selected to resemble the natural hues of Montana’s big sky and terrain, tucking the new development into the landscape as if it had always been there. Utilizing Bozeman’s new affordable housing ordinance, which allows certain relaxations in city codes and standards in exchange for affordable rent, Westlake Heights will welcome residents in 2025.

The Union at Purple Heart Trail

The Union at Purple Heart Trail project, developed by The Annex Group, is addressing the region's affordable housing needs. As a key partner, HDJ brings expertise in affordable housing architecture and engineering to provide design leadership. HDJ’s strong collaboration with The Annex Group is leading to the creation of living environments where residents can thrive, demonstrating a long-term vision for improving lives through thoughtful design. Amenities will include a community center with a fitness facility, a media center, a business learning center, an outdoor pavilion, a playground, a bark park, walking paths, and picnic areas. Opening in 2025, The Union at Purple Heart Trail development spans ten acres amid landscaped open spaces. Wichita, Kansas

ANNIKA PLACE

Traverse

City, Michigan

Annika Place, an affordable housing development in Northern Michigan, celebrated its grand opening in May 2024. Developed by Woda Cooper Companies, this affordable housing neighborhood includes a single four-story residential building south of downtown Traverse City. Providing architectural and engineering services, HDJ worked closely with the development team to create balanced and relaxed residential living spaces. To encourage active and peaceful community engagement, amenities at Annika Place include a fitness center, community room, business center, a rooftop terrace, a patio, and outdoor cooking and dining spaces.

Norfolk, Virginia

Nestled in Norfolk, Virginia’s renowned Church Street, Aspire, developed by The Richman Group, is an eagerly awaited affordable housing community. Working closely with The Richman Group, HDJ provided architectural and engineering services for this transformative development. Aspire at Church Street stands where the historic Willis Building once symbolized black entrepreneurship in downtown Norfolk. This new community, featuring 85 modern residential apartments, is designed to foster growth and creativity, offering a business center to assist aspiring entrepreneurs and business owners, art programs, and a community garden.
