All About Lisa Smartt Lisa Smartt is a 47-year old woman who loves to laugh! Born in a small town in West Kentucky, she now writes a weekly humor column from her home outside Dresden, Tennessee. She lives on 16 wooded acres with her husband of 22 years, two sons (who sometimes fight), and four male cats who desperately need Prozac. Her first book was released in 2007 entitled, “The Smartt View: Life, Love, and Cluttered Closets.” Public speaking is Lisa’s passion. She has spoken to groups around the country on subjects like “Contentment in a Discontent World” and “We’re All in the Same Boat, So Grab a Lifeline.” Lisa believes laughter is a gift and loves to share with others her personal weaknesses, struggles, and the sheer joy of daily living! This free community resource empowers the women of our community with the confidence to make informed health care decisions for themselves and their loved ones. From the beginning, Hood County Hospital District Board recognized Healthy Woman’s monthly health education events and classes as a powerful tool to improve the area’s quality of life for residents. We appreciate their foresight and know that their support has helped women and their families lead healthier and more balanced lives. This year, Healthy Woman established another partnership for the Healthy Woman Anniversary Event. H-E-B learned about the Healthy Woman program and were excited that it mirrored many of their same values; to help build healthier communities.
