2020 ANNUAL REPORT 2020 has been a tumultuous year with every industry and sector feeling the impact of Covid-19. Despite the shifting tides of the year, the HCC has successfully been able to serve its members by transitioning its programs, outreach, and resources to virtual and hybrid spaces. This report includes more about the Hispanic Chamber, details on our Covid-19 response and programs and community engagement for 2020.

MISSION, VISION, & GOALS MISSION To improve business opportunities for Hispanic firms and professionals thereby improving the economic development of the St. Louis region.

VISION To enhance and increase the Hispanic business competitiveness in the local, state and international market.

GOALS To become the cornerstone for the Hispanic business community, and to participate in the present and future business developments of metropolitan St. Louis.

Added 94 new members in 2020 for a total membership of 406. The HCC STL was awarded a $2000 grant from the USHCC to continue our mission during Covid-19. Created a bi-lingual Covid-19 specific resource page on the HCC website. Launched weekly emails to share Covid-19 resources with HCC members which ran from April until July. Successfully transitioned event formats for Covid safety to complete the HCC calendar of events including Signature Events, Business After Hours, and Pop-up Events. Launched "Reopening Talks with the HCC", which ran from April to September of 2020. The HCC STL Foundation Launched Carryout for La Comunidad, a member restaurant relief initiative that ran from April to June of 2020. Launched "Member Shoutout" in July, a social media initiative to highlight HCC members. Initiated a partnership with The International Institute, The Asian American Chamber of Commerce, and Vitendo 4 Africa to develop grant opportunities. Secured a $3000 grant in collaboration with AutĂŠntico Podcast and LiUNA Local 110 to encourage participation in and an understanding of the Census among the Hispanic Community. Developed a new "member check-in" process to monitor members up for renewal with a goal of increasing retention in 2021. PAGE

2020 EVENTS EXECUTIVE INSIGHTS: MARKETING TO THE HISPANIC COMMUNITY The Executive Insights event was designed to offer corporations and decision-makers with in-depth-information about the growing Hispanic community both locally, regionally, and nationally. This year, the Hispanic Chamber partnered with Thompson Coburn and Elasticity to learn about the complexities and importance of marketing to the Hispanic community. This year's event was held virtually via Zoom in October and had 41 people in attendance which is a 24% increase in attendance from the 2019 event.

CONTRACTOR CONNECT A panel of construction industry experts discussed the state of the region and shared how companies can integrate and connect to prime contractors as well as other resources for greater business opportunities. This event was held on Facebook Live in November. Panelists included: Steve Lewis, AGC Missouri; Gabriel Cardenas, Missouri Constructors; Berto Garcia, Garcia Properties; Dirk Elsperman, Tarlton Corporation; Carlos Huddleston, Gonzalez Companies, LLC. Engagements: 459 views and 33 comments

SPANISH RESTAURANT TRAINING The Restaurant Training offers our Spanish-speaking restaurant owners and future owners the training they need to succeed in their language. Our 2020 session was held in December on Facebook Live and helped us connect individuals with needed resources. Engagement: 2085 people reached, 490 views, 207 engagements, 50 shares, and 23 comments. PAGE 6


2020 SIGNATURE EVENTS JOB FAIR Our annual Job Fari was held in February 2020, at The Sheet Metal Workers' Local 36 with the goal of connecting area employers with talented and diverse job seekers. Each year, the HCC aims to attract qualified talent to match with vendors’ needs. Resume support and mock interview training were provided to job seekers in collaboration with community partners. Number in Attendance: 54 vendors participated at this year’s Job Fair and 120 job seekers attended was a 20% increase in job seekers from 2019.

ADELANTE AWARDS The Adelante Awards recognize the contributions and achievements of individuals, entrepreneurs, and corporations in the St. Louis Metro Area. In keeping with the HCC mission, the awards focus on Hispanic businesses and professionals as well as on non-Hispanic companies and individuals that have made a significant contribution to the community at large. This year's Awards were a hybrid event held in September, with the ceremonies broadcast to guests on YouTube as they received a gourmet meal, drink, and program delivered to their door. Number in Attendance: #300

HISPANIC WORKING WOMEN Dedicated to supporting and promoting Latinas through panel discussions, networking and mentorship; this annual event gets bigger and bigger every year. The 2020 theme of "Your Voice, Your Vote, Your Value" was in celebration of the 100 year anniversary of the passing of the 19th Amendment. This fully virtual event took place in August and included a discussion panel and keynote speaker followed by a networking meeting. 189 guests streamed this event, which signaled a 10% increase in attendance from 2019. 2020 SIGNATURE EVENTS HCC STL FOUNDATION GOLF CLASSIC The primary fund-raiser for the HCC STL Foundation's programs, the annual golf outing proceeds benefit the HCC STL Foundation, which funds education and training programs such as the Hispanic Leadership Institute for professionals as well as the High School program. Because of the success of the golf tournament, the Foundation is able to provide scholarships for HLI participants that do not receive a financial contribution from their employer and to high school students. The 2020 Golf Classic was held at the Norman K. Probstein Golf Course in Forest Park in September. Virtual raffle options, social distancing, and boxed lunches were all used in order to create a safe and successful tournament. Number in Attendance: 165

HISPANIC LEADERSHIP INSTITUTE The Hispanic Leadership Institute is a skills-based leadership training program targeted at Hispanic professionals. The Institute consists of nine training sessions conducted once a month, each focused on a particular skill set for the developing leader. In addition to their leadership training, participants are encouraged to give back to the St. Louis region through community involvement. In 2020, HLI Class X has 16 participants and is currently on a virtual schedule with the intent to resume live sessions.

HIGH SCHOOL HISPANIC LEADERSHIP INSTITUTE The Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of St. Louis Foundation established the Hispanic Leadership Institute for high school (10th-12th grade) students as a select program for 15-20 individuals to develop leadership skills and give back to the St. Louis community. This program transitioned to a virtual setting for HS HLI Class IV that successfully graduated all students. COMMUNITY OUTREACH PROGRAMS CAFÉ WITH BUSINESS These monthly educational videos are designed to share business knowledge and professional know-how from various experts in the community. They cover a variety of topics related to community empowerment, diversity & inclusion, and small business assistance. Café with Business videos have had 2472 views in 2020 and has over 4000 Facebook followers.

CÁMARA EN VIVO This monthly video segment is conducted in Spanish to promote small businesses, highlight entrepreneurs' lessons learned, and showcase the HCC's diverse membership. Camara en Vivo has an audience of 4000 dedicated followers on Facebook and an average viewership of 450 viewers every month.

BUSINESS AFTER HOURS Business After Hours are held every third Thursday of the month. These events are social networking events that aim to highlight the HCC membership. In 2020 following the lockdown orders, we transitioned 5 of our Business After Hours into a virtual space with 2 months remaining live. This transition has allowed us to continue to provide this popular networking opportunity to our members during the pandemic.

CENSUS COLLABORATION Secured a $3000 grant in collaboration with Auténtico Podcast and Local 110 create videos, interviews and promote census information to encourage understanding and participation of The Census among the Hispanic community. SOCIAL MEDIA EFFORTS HCC WEBSITE UPDATES We updated the website to reflect the Hispanic Chamber services and added easier access to news releases, ChamberMaster and, HCC Facebook shows and also removed outdated information.

MEMBER SHOUT OUT Launched in July, Member Shout-Out, promotes our members through all social media platforms including FB, LinkedIn, and Twitter. We include information about them and a flyer attached to the post and have reached 10,274 people on Facebook and featured 22 members.

JOB POSTINGS To further promote the job openings featured by our members we began posting them on our social media channels. On Facebook, we have reached 12,053 people. We also promote on Twitter and LinkedIn. In the past, job postings were shared mainly in the bimonthly newsletter. SOCIAL MEDIA KEY TERMS Engagement : Any form of interaction on social media. Comment : A form of engagement in which a user replies to your post. Reach: The total number of people who have been exposed to a post. Shares: The total number of people who share your content. Impressions: On Twitter is a total tally of all the times the Tweet has been seen. This includes not only the times it appears in one of your followers' timelines but also the times it has appeared in search or as a result of someone liking the Tweet. View : A Facebook video view is logged when a video plays for at least three seconds. A view is counted as soon as the video is rendered on the screen.

SOCIAL MEDIA EFFORTS FACEBOOK Gained 874 followers since 2019 for a total of 4003 in 2020. Made use of the wide HCC Facebook audience to host 11 events on Facebook which reached over 19.5k people with 515 event responses.

LINKEDIN We increased our follower count by 77% from January 2019 to November of 2020 for a current count of 577.

TWITTER From January 1st to November, we had 98,900 impressions. With 81 new followers. Currently, we have 1,672 followers.

COVID-19 COMMUNITY OUTREACH INITIATIVES AND EFFORTS WHICH THE HCC & HCC STL FOUNDATION HAVE UNDERTAKEN TO SUPPORT ITS MEMBERS DURING THE COVID-19 CRISIS.

COVID-19 MEMBER RESOURCE NEWSLETTER Launched on April 1st, this weekly newsletter went out to all HCC members in order to share Covid-19 resources. We continued these efforts to share funding opportunities, educational webinars and other resources for more than four months and sent the final email out in July.

BI-LINGUAL COVID-19 RESOURCE WEBPAGE SECTION We expanded the HCC website to include a new bilingual page detailing resources such as workshops, grants, articles, financial resources, guides, webinars and more. These resources are easily accessible to both members and prospective members seeking guidance.

BACK & STRONGER This series of 18 flyers details resources for HCC members on Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn. Topics included PPP, Facebook live videos, Marketing & Sales, CDC Guidelines, and COVID lessons learned from various industries.

COVID-19 COMMUNITY OUTREACH INITIATIVES AND EFFORTS WHICH THE HCC & HCC STL FOUNDATION HAVE UNDERTAKEN TO SUPPORT ITS MEMBERS DURING THE COVID-19 CRISIS.

REOPENING TALKS WITH THE HCC This weekly video series was hosted via Streamyard on Facebook live and ran from May to October of 2020 to support member businesses through conversations of shared experience and problem solving during Missouri's reopening phase plans. The new platform allowed the team to create member-specific branding and other innovative features that further positioned the HCC as a premiere chamber in the region. Reopening Talks reached over 25,000 people and showcased more than 50 members.

CARRYOUT FOR LA COMUNIDAD Carryout for La Comunidad was launched by the HCC STL Foundation in April of 2020 as a relief initiative for HCC member restaurants. Fundraising efforts raised direct economic relief for participating member restaurants which went to purchase meals for healthcare workers at Affinia Healthcare and BJC Healthcare Network locations. Funds raised: $9745 Number of meals distributed: 1100
