Holy Cross’ New Website Launches in June Lauren Hayward News Editor Holy Cross’ Marketing and Communications team will introduce a new website at the end of the June. While the current Holy Cross home page is an interim step, the look and feel of the design is a sneak preview of that of the new website. Similar to the interim homepage, the new website will include more enhanced photography and compelling text. The website content and structure will also be improved. “Our hope is that the new site more accurately reflects our position as a leading liberal arts college and better showcases the unique characteristics of Holy Cross to all of our audiences,” said Christian Santillo, associate director for web communications. The new website redesign project is being managed by the Holy Cross Marketing and Communications team comprised of Santillo, Ellen Ryder, chief marketing and communications officer, and Marisa Gregg, director of college marketing and communications. They have led a Website Redesign Advisory Team comprised of staff, faculty and students. The team has met regularly during each project phase to review project status and provide feedback. It was time for the College to update the website. “The current ver-

OHO Interactive conducted analytic studies of the current website to provide recommendations for the new website. The new website design has been approved by Father Boroughs and the College Executive Team. Some of the key changes for the new website will include a new navigation bar at the top of the website to provide links for specific groups, including current students, faculty and staff, parents and families, alumni, and prospective students. For example, the current students page will have internal links and College news, which are most relevant for students. On April 20, over 27,000 runners filled the streets and competed in the 2015 Boston Marathon. Among the competitors were two Holy Cross students, Andrew Cook, ‘15, and Timothy Driscoll, See CENTER, page 3 ‘16. This was Cook’s third time running the Boston Marathon. According to a press release on the Holy Cross website, Cook decided to run because he thought it would be a good way to cap off his time at Holy Cross. It didn’t hurt that the official color for this year’s marathon was purple either. “I thought it would be a nice way to ring out my college years with a sense of completion,” Cook said in the press release. Driscoll was running for the South Shore Hospital in memory of his late grandmother, who passed away this January. This was Driscoll’s first time running in the Photo by Tom Rettig marathon.

Cook ran the course in 3 hours, 52 minutes and 3 seconds, with a 8:52 mile pace and Driscoll ran it in 3 hours, 59 minutes and 5 seconds. Though both times are a far cry from winner Lelisa Desisa’s time of 2:09:17, they are very good. Even qualifying for the marathon is extremely impressive in and of See MARATHON, page 2 @thehccrusader
