The Northern Kentucky Relocation Guide is an official publication of the Building Industry Association of Northern Kentucky. 2751 Circleport Drive, Erlanger, Kentucky 41018. My name is Chris Cook, and I am the 2023 President of the Building Industry Association of Northern Kentucky (BIA NKY). I am also the Founder and current partner of TKOR Holdings, which is the parent company of 6 individual construction trade companies including the custom Registered Builder, Beaumont Building Group. I want to welcome you to our region. When moving to a new place it is important to know you are buying a home from a reputable builder. I highly recommend choosing a Registered Builder from the BIA NKY. Before a builder can join our association, we have a rigorous vetting system they must complete to ensure they are meeting industry standards in their home construction. Whether designing a custom home or purchasing an existing property your new house will become your home. We want you to feel confident in your buying decision. On the next few pages, we have listed our current Registered Builders from the BIA NKY. You can also click the QR Code below for an up-to-date digital listing. If you have any questions, I encourage you to call the BIA NKY at 859-331-9500. Sincerely, Chris Cook President, BIA of Northern Kentucky

NKYLIVE We might be biased, but there’s no better place to live than northern Kentucky! Whether you want to live on a farm, in the burbs, or in a river city, residents are spoiled for choice in our region.

▶ RABBIT HASH ▶ ▶ ▶ If you’re looking for a nice Sunday drive, we locals will tell you to visit Rabbit Hash. They say the name originated during the flood of 1847 when the huge local rabbit population was driven to higher ground and became a food staple in a special stew called “hash.” This eclectic tiny town has a General Store with tons of local goods, plus a wine shop, and yummy food. It sits right on the river and is the perfect spot to watch the sun set. Plus, who could resist Mayor Wilbur.

UNION – Union is a desirable, attractive place to live and raise afamily, as evidenced by its dramatic population increase over the lastthree decades. The quiet, residential neighborhoods offer homeswith a median price of $244,300 and median household income of$98,438. An emphasis on “responsible development” of new homesand commercial spaces attract upscale housing and provide residentswith a sense of identity. WALTON – For more than 160 years, Walton has been a popularplace to live, work, and play. This rural community has acontemporary attitude, where serene country settings existalongside the urban hustle of the nearby cities. Regional real estatecosts thousands of dollars less than the national average, and Waltonreal estate is among the most affordable in the Northern Kentuckyregion.

CAMPBELL COUNTY Campbell County is where the Bluegrass meets the city skyline. A firstclass location to work, live, learn, and play, you’ll find global connections, rich cultural heritage, outstanding educational institutions, vibrant entertainment, and an excellent environment for business and family.

CITIES IN CAMPBELL COUNTY ALEXANDRIA – Only 30 minutes from downtown Cincinnati and CVG, Airport, Alexandria offers public and private schools, is minutes from Northern Kentucky University and an easy commute to the University of Cincinnati, Xavier University, and Thomas More College. The city’s tagline, “Where the City Meets the Country,” speaks to its blend of urban convenience and quiet country living. BELLEVUE – This quaint, walkable, vibrant, riverfront community across from downtown Cincinnati is home to more than 5,000 residents. Bellevue boasts a variety of attractive architecture that appeals to both millennials and empty-nesters. The city’s main street is lined with local businesses, retail, and culinary venues. CAMP SPRINGS – Settled in the 1800’s by a group of German settlers from the Rhine River Valley, the buildings in Camp Springs feature German architecture, constructed from local limestone. These unique, and very desirable historic homes, were built into the hillsides, giving access from two levels. Camp Springs is also home to StoneBrook Winery and Camp Springs Winery. COLD SPRING – Located in northern Campbell County, Cold Spring is only minutes from Northern Kentucky University, and is home to the national headquarters of the veteran service organization, Disabled American Veterans. The city’s name refers to a cold stream which for many years served as the sole source of drinking water. The community was founded prior to 1800. FORT THOMAS – Located on the southern bank of the Ohio River and the site of an 1890 Army post, Fort Thomas is the largest city in Campbell County. It boasts one of the region’s finest independent public school districts; their three elementary schools and high school are consistently ranked among the top in the country. Downtown Fort Thomas is home to a business district that features local businesses, banks, and shops. HIGHLAND HEIGHTS – Nestled in the region’s hills just seven miles south of Cincinnati, this quiet suburb got its start as a farm community in the 1920’s. Today, Highland Heights succeeds in maintaining its small-town feel with easy access to a vibrant metropolitan life, and is home to one of Kentucky’s fastest growing universities, Northern Kentucky University. SOUTHGATE – A vibrant and historic community of roughly 3,800 residents, Southgate is just a few miles from downtown Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky University. WILDER – A unique town with a mix of rural, suburban, and urban settings, Wilder has a growing business community, which features everything from heavy industrial to professional offices and commercial attractions. Downtown Cincinnati is only five minutes away from this suburb, which borders Northern Kentucky University. The city offers a range of housing styles and features one of the lowest property tax rates in Northern Kentucky.

▶ NEWPORT ▶ ▶ ▶ Situated at the confluence of the Ohio River and the Licking River, Newport features ease of access to Cincinnati and CVG Airport - but this city has so much to offer you might not want to leave. With many shopping and dining options, Newport is home to six National Register historic districts and one local historic district. Nine neighborhoods make up the city and neighborhood groups take great pride in them. Steeped in history, and particularly known for its 1940s and ‘50s gambling halls and Vegas-style nightclubs, today’s Newport is rich in development and redevelopment. It is my pleasure to welcome you to Northern Kentucky! Campbell County has been my home, as well as where I’ve run my family business, for my entire life. We are a community of more than 90,000 of the hardest-working people you will ever know. More than that, within a few minutes’ drive of downtown Cincinnati, you will find active farmland and vineyards in the southern part of our county, a major institution of higher education—Northern Kentucky University—in the middle section of the county, and thriving urban areas dotted along the southern side of the Ohio River in our northernmost areas. This county, while close in proximity to all the amenities of the Cincinnati region, offers plenty to do for residents, business owners, and visitors alike. We are home to one of the newest members of the Craft Tour of the Kentucky Bourbon Trail— New Riff Distilling. You can take in a Norse basketball game at BB&T Arena at NKU or find yourself touring beautiful, historic homes in theEast Row of Newport. Our county is home to headquarters and manufacturing operations of major regional and national businesses, and I am proud that we have several of the finest school districts in the entire Commonwealth of Kentucky right here. Please take advantage of all we have to offer. I assure you that Campbell County and Northern Kentucky will not disappoint. Welcome! Steve Pendry Judge Executive

▶ COVINGTON ▶ ▶ ▶ There’s a reason northern Kentuckians #LovetheCov. Covington, Kenton’s vibrant river city, located at the confluence of the Ohio and Licking Rivers, across from Cincinnati, was founded in 1815. This river city is a destination unto itself for both businesses and residents. The city embraces and celebrates the economic, cultural and racial diversity of its residents and is experiencing a true renaissance that includes both new and historic housing opportunities, high-tech firms, creative businesses and the arts. Nineteen distinct neighborhoods make up Covington and range in population from several hundred to 10,000 people. Historic preservation is greatly valued in this city and you’ll find that many neighborhoods contain one of Covington’s 16 National Register Historic Districts. The Hotel Covington, a $21.5 million transformation of the city’s old Coppin’s Department Store building, Braxton Brewing Company, and culinary venues in the city’s MainStrasse Village, are but a few samplings of Covington’s nod to its past as it embraces an exciting future. is the third largest city in Kenton County, with much to offer both residents and businesses. FAIRVIEW – located in southern Kenton County, primarily along state route 177, the city was incorporated in 1957 to avoid annexation by Covington. Its history is tied to the adjacent railroad, and the name “Fairview” was suggested by one of the residents. The city of Fairview is zoned agricultural and has a population of under 200. FORT MITCHELL – neighborhoods offer charm, as well as stunning parks, and an excellent recreation program. Residents believe in a strong sense of community, where people care about each other and their city, and it is a great place to raise a family. The city is home to two Blue Ribbon National Schools of Excellence: Beechwood Independent, consistently one of the top public schools in the state, with grades K through 12, and Blessed Sacrament, a parochial school with grades K thru 8. The city is home to several prominent businesses, including the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce headquarters.

FORT WRIGHT – Named after Civil War hero Horatio Wright and situated on a hillside in Northern Kentucky with scenic views of Cincinnati, Fort Wright has ready access to urban amenities while retaining suburban charm and warmth. INDEPENDENCE – The City of Independence is located in the “heart” of Kenton County. Independence is about 15 minutes south of Cincinnati and offers a lifestyle different from neighboring towns because of its urban amenities in a rural setting. Independence is one of the fastest growing cities in the Commonwealth and was recently ranked as the 99th fastest growing city in the nation. LAKESIDE PARK – Charm and convenience are among the hallmarks of Lakeside Park, Residents prize the friendly residential community atmosphere, the city’s outstanding police and fire protection, and the convenience of its location. Hospitals, great schools, interstate highways, the Greater Cincinnati International Airport, abundant shopping and dining locales are nearby. Covington, Cincinnati, Newport and Florence are all within a 10 minute drive.

St. Mary’s Cathedral Basilica of the Assumption

LUDLOW – Between 1894 and 1917, the little river city of Ludlow was home to the Ludlow Lagoon Amusement Park, a major recreational center for the Greater Cincinnati area, featuring a large lake with sandy beaches, a roller coaster over the water, a carousel with hand-carved wooden figures, and a miniature railroad ride. Today, Ludlow is known not only for its close-knit neighborhoods and excellent independent school district, but also its increasingly vibrant business district along Elm Street, where you can find a growing number of retail and culinary venues. In keeping with its history of the unusual, today Ludlow is home to Circus Mojo, a youth and adult circus arts program that allows its customers a chance to experience the thrill of walking the tightrope, juggling, and plate spinning, as well as Bircus Brewing Company, where the “surreal world of circus meets the love of beer.” The city’s charm appeals to millennials and empty nesters, who are settling into historic homes for both business and residence.

Photo by Kathy Kuhn PARK HILLS – Nestled in the rolling hills of northern Kentucky, Park Hills is home to 3,000 people. Residents and business owners enjoy the tranquility of the parklike setting, complemented by the proximity to downtown Covington and Cincinnati. With the added convenience of nearby shopping, sporting events, concerts, and more, Park Hills is truly a hidden gem. Park Hills is also home to two blue ribbonwinning private Catholic schools: Notre Dame Academy for girls, and Covington Catholic High School for boys. Both of these institutions are known for strong academic programs, as well as athletic excellence. RYLAND HEIGHTS – This small community is surrounded by a stunning countryside and panoramic view of the Licking River and nearby lakes. A group of businessmen from Cin-

cinnati and Northern Kentucky opened what is now called Ryland Country Club. The name Little Switzerland was bestowed upon the private club by its well-known member, local artist Frank Duveneck. The city has a volunteer fire department and ambulance service and Ryland Heights Elementary School, which is part of the Kenton County School system. TAYLOR MILL – is a friendly, vibrant community in Northern Kentucky with a small town feel and a big city focus. Taylor Mill is home to nearly 7,000 residents and a mix of businesses, including a new downtown/commercial district. The city offers easy access to I-275, downtown Cincinnati and the airport. From its strong sense of community and quiet neighborhoods to its focus on building a thriving downtown and becoming more walkable, Taylor Mill is a city “Taylored with Pride.”

VILLA HILLS – A residential city in northern Kenton Co., Villa Hills is bordered by the Ohio River and Bromley on the north, by Erlanger and Boone Co. on the west, and by Crescent Springs on the south and east. Villa Hills reflects the history of the farmers who worked the land, the Benedictine sisters who established a monastery, and the young families who worked together to build the city. WALTON – For more than 160 years, Walton has been a popular place to live, work and play. A rural community with a modern attitude, Walton’s serene country scenes co-exist with the urban hustle of the cities and towns nearby. Walton offers the perfect location for those seeking major metropolitan advantages and excellent economic incentives.

URGENT CARE

Covington is determined to emerge from these difficult times not shell-shocked and shattered but poised for exciting growth. In 2020 alone, we announced 2,100 new jobs and $85.6 million in private investment. We have a blank 23-acre canvas downtown waiting to be filled in. We’re revamping our riverfront. We’ve recently attracted seven headquarters/“core sites.” And we’re adding apartments, condos, new homes, and in-fill housing throughout our 19 neighborhoods. Companies who move here tell us that their leaders and employees have fallen in love with the quality of life in Covington. Why does everybody #LoveTheCov? This city is filled with historic spaces, fascinating architecture, a national reputation for being welcoming and inclusive, over 1,000 acres of parks, green space and trails, and a cool urban vibe featuring authentic and quirky restaurants, bars and retail shops. If you want a cookie-cutter, strip-mall city, The Cov isn’t for you. But if you’re intrigued by a place with an edgy feel, that brims with unique activities and shops, that embraces diversity and laughs with quirkiness, and that pursues smartcity approaches with a City Hall focused on customer service, check us out.

GRANT COUNTY Grant County is Northern Kentucky’s southernmost county, located at the very top of the Bluegrass Region’s “Golden Triangle,” and just an hour drive from Lexington and Louisville, Kentucky, and Cincinnati, Ohio.

CITIES IN GRANT COUNTY CORINTH – The smallest of Grant County’s four incorporatedareas, this charming rural enclave is a sweet slice ofAmericana, with a country store and other small businesses. In 1930, the Corinth basketball team not only won theKentucky State Championship, but went to the national tournament in Chicago where its “fabulous five” starters tookthird place in the nation. CRITTENDEN –There’s a good chance that you’ve heard aboutthe tiny little town of Crittendon because of one of its morefamous — and favorite — residents. In 2001, Crittenden’sRodger Bingham, a retired school teacher and farmer, became a beloved national figure when he appeared on television’s Survivor: The Australian Outback. Bingham wasa solid representative of this small town that provides quietliving with easy proximity to metropolitan venues. DRY RIDGE –A friendly little city, Dry Ridge is home to thelast stagecoach stop left standing in Kentucky, ShermanTavern. You will also find the I-75 Outlet Center, an antiquemall, the historic Hogan House Inn, and charming localbusinesses.

The full-size Noah’s Ark, spanning 510 feetlong, 85 feet wide, and 51 feet high, is an engineering marvel. Visitors to the park explore biblical history, fossilhunts, and zip lines. GALLATIN COUNTY Small in size but big on hospitality, Gallatin County has transformed from quiet, rural farmland to a vibrant growing community. It is nestled on the fertile banks of the Ohio River in Northern Kentucky in the “Golden Triangle,” of Cincinnati, Louisville and Lexington. Its county tagline is “Little, but in the middle of it all.”

▶ SPARTA ▶ ▶ The tiny town of Sparta began as a village named Brock’s Station back in 1802, and in the mid-1800’s it became a stop on the Louisville and Nashville Railroad. Today the CSX trains still run through the town, and so do some of the racing world’s fastest drivers at Kentucky Speedway (currently closed). This 1.5-mile trioval speedway put this little town on the map, hosting ARCA, NASCAR, and Indy Racing League each year.

CITIES OF GALLATIN COUNTY Glencoe This sweet, little Kentucky town has a population of around 360 and you can find hometown goodness in local venues like the Exit 62 Truck Stop for family-style dining. Warsaw Situated on the banks of the Ohio River between Cincinnati, Lexington, and Louisville, Warsaw is also located between Kentucky Speedway and Belterra Casino. But Warsaw’s real appeal lies in its quiet, charming community — a Tom Sawyer-esque locale. UTILITIES
