‘Chatham High’ is the location of the first important key urban space in the masterplan. This is because the space integrates all the key active participants into the central urban area. This focal point demolishes previous fragmented spaces and redefines them withnew spaces that celebrate people in Chatham. The historical church and the residential flats lay beside the exciting market square which invites people to relax, eat and enjoy the view by the fountain.

The environmental resilience in terms of SUDS is used throughout to help with drainage frame a high quality public space. The buildings define this market square as one that is timeless due to its need to uncover heritage of the maritime city. Underused plots are now replaced with proper functional spaces that create new exciting opportunities due to the space.

The diagrams above show the location plan and the landscape path. The purpose of each map is to break down the masterplan.

The diagrams above present the changes to the site. Demolition is seen in red, the proposed in blue and the last identifies new landscaping.

The diagrams above are key for the circulation, site strategies, key points of interest and the classification of building types.

Here are the floor plans showing the spaces within each flat. This is to give an idea of the arrangement of how this system will work for my design.
