Recently, Ganni has embarked on collaborations with long standing, heritage brands. Their partnership with Barbour sold out in minutes, and their limited collection with Levi’s had an incredible social media campaign.
Something Ganni does well as a brand is their prints that come available on multiple garments for their collection, creating synergy across their seasonal drops. To work with a British brand such as Liberty’s, who are renowned for their prints on Tana Lawn™ Cotton, they would be creating a unique product that will expand their audience.
GANNI is a RTW Danish brand that started as a Danish cashmere label, before gaining traction in the mid 2010’s with it’s unique, cult styles, strong sustainability ethos and the luxury feel for an accessible price point. The brand has a dedicated fan base of influencers and celebrities alike, buying into the stylistic queues of the #gannigirls and buying into their viral designs.
The brand was acquired by LVMH- backed private equity firm, L. Chatterton which has further pushed the brand into the global market (Lectra, 2021). The brand has kept that status through the pandemic which saw 50% growth in their revenue in the past three years (State of Fashion, 2021).
LIBERTY LONDON is renowned British department store that was built on a foundation of bringing a variety of luxuries from all over the world to the streets of London. Founded in 1875 on Regent street, it didn’t take long for the stores vision to be a success and the concept moved to Marlborough Street in 1924.
The building is now a heritage listed building and is Liberty is famed for it’s designs, inspired curation and cultural collaborations. Liberty Fabrics is an iconic section of their company, creating home furnishings and accessories, as well as unique fabric designs that are available to purchase.
