The Cincinnati Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., The Chapter Foundation, and the Black and White Ball Committee would like to thank our guests, donors and sponsors for their support. With your help, we will continue to provide scholarships to deserving young students, mentor students through our Donald Spencer Reading Academy at Bond Hill Elementary School and supporting local charitable organizations. Kappa Men are committed to give back in our community to those who are in need of assistance.
The Cincinnati Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi was chartered approximately twelve years after Kappa Alpha Psi was incorporated as a National Greek Letter College Fraternity. The Charter Members, with Phi Nu Pi as their motto, and achievement as a goal, were L.R. Breedlove, Ray Clark, Ned Dunham, H.L. Hunter, and James Ross. It was through their dedication that the Cincinnati Alumni Chapter attained its charter and was incorporated under the laws of the state of Ohio on December 18, 1923.
The Cincinnati Alumni Chapter is home of the first African American Millionaire in Cincinnati, Donald C. Spencer. The chapter is also home to TWO Laurel Wreath Laureates - Judge Nathaniel Jones (Chapter Invisible) and Dr. Alvin Crawford. The strong tradition and history of the chapter will continue to grow into the 21st century.
This initiative began under our revered Brother Donald Spencer to enhance and promote reading fundamentals to at risk children in grades 3 - 6 before his transition to Chapter Invisible. Members of the chapter are currently providing tutorial assistance in reading and math at Bond Hill Academy two times a week throughout the school year.
The award is given at the end of each semester, honoring the top male and female students from the 3rd through 6th grades at Bond Hill Academy. The most recent award was given in December 2022. Each student nominated for the award should possess the following traits:
• Achievement - Good grades, hardworking, drive to achieve
• Behavior - Good attitude, great character, willingness to help others
• Consistency - Shows up for online class (or in person class) daily, completes assignments on time
Nineteen Students from the Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky area are currently members of the CAC Kappa League for the 2023-2024 school year. Through the initiative of the Cincinnati Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. Kappa League Leaders, Ervin Thomas III and Norman Bouwie III, and a committee of Brothers, Kappa League members perform projects that will expose them to planning, execution, reporting ideas, and simulating good leadership characteristics designed to raise their aspiration levels. The program is designed to aid young men to grow and develop their leadership talents in every phase of human endeavor.
The purpose of the organized wives and widows of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., is to promote the organization of local Silhouette chapters, provide activities for visiting Silhouettes during Kappa Conclaves, develop national service projects of interest to all Silhouette chapters, establish uniform policies and procedures for all local chapters and most importantly to serve as the official auxiliary to Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity. The Cincinnati Chapter of the Silhouettes continue to effectively lead this mission daily. Through their support to the Cincinnati Alumni Chapter and their philanthropic giving in the community, they are a force to be reckoned with.
On November 18, 2024, the Cincinnati Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi, hosted a Turkey Drive at Allen Temple AME Church in the heart of the Bond Hill community. Over 250 Turkeys were donated to families in need by members of the chapter during the Turkey Drive. This could not have been possible without our Centennial Campaign, donations from Brothers, and our partnership with Allen Temple AME Church.
Thanks to your contributions, we awarded $20,000 to young men in the Greater Cincinnati area. We have provided more than $350,000 since 1998.
Congratulations to the 2024 CAC Foundations' Black &White Charity Gala Committee
