SUBSTRATE - Uncoated Expanded Polystyrene System Eureka Marble Medium tinted to Colorbond® Paperbark®IMPORTANT REQUIREMENTS
Uncoated EPS panels must be installed in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions. Refer to the manufacturer’s Technical Manual.
Frame details and panel fixings must comply with relevant building codes.
• Timber framing must comply with AS1684-1992 National Timer Framing Code.
Metal framing must comply with AS3623-1993 Domestic Metal Framing. All exposed corners and bottom edges of the panels must be protected with approved trims designed for a build of 3-6 mm.
• When coating onto uncoated EPS panel where the surface is exposed to U.V (sunlight) even for a few days the panel surface MUST be thoroughly cleaned to remove any oxidised layer on top of the panel. HPS render will NOT stick to oxidised uncoated EPS. Use a stiff bristled brush and remove oxidised layer by scrubbing panels back to clean foam.
• Once application of the Rendertex system has occurred, the applicator is taken to have approved the installation and fixing of the panels.
• Ensure that the surface is clean, sound, dry and free from contaminants including oil, grease, dust, dirt, silicone, mud, salt, efflorescence, animal droppings and any loose or flaking material.
Avoid application in full sun, on hot surfaces or in hot windy conditions. Application should be carried out on a day with temperatures above 10°C and below 32°C.
Colour selection and construction design must always take into consideration the LRV of the colours to be used, the construction material and the surrounding environment. You must read the appropriate ‘Installation and Finishes Guide’ for substrate and follow the minimum LRV specification for the coating system.
• For southern states of Australia Haymes Paint Rendertex Torquay Marble Coarse, Eureka Marble Medium, Riverina Sand and Sovereign Quartz are available in a WINTER formulation. The formula varies in that it is specifically designed to flow, stiffen and cure in colder climates over winter when cooler temperatures slow the stiffening and curing process.

PREPARATION COAT #1
Materials required:
• Renderbase HPS render, 20 kg bags.
• Alkali resistant fiberglass mesh, at least 160 gsm x 5 mm – cut pieces of mesh to size before starting the rendering.
Authorised Distributor:
Procedure:
• Prepare Renderbase HPS render as per the relevant Product Data Sheet.
• Apply a coat of HPS render at about 3-6 mm over entire surface.
While the HPS is still wet, embed fibre-glass mesh, angles and reinforcing strips. Overlapping the fibre-glass mesh by 100 mm where two sheets meet.
• The mesh MUST NOT be pushed back through the render to the surface of the panel.
Fibre-glass mesh should never overlap where two EPS panels meet. Do not render over expansion or control joints.
Screed the render coat and float off.
Allow minimum 3 to 4 hours curing time before applying second and subsequent render coats.
PREPARATION COAT #2
Apply a second coat of HPS at about 2-3 mm thick (No mesh required in this coat) to ensure your surface is level ensuring the best finish for your subsequent texture coating.
CURING TIME
Curing time allows the render to develop sufficient strength to resist mechanical damage before over coating.
In warm conditions, wetting or tempering of the freshly applied Render is recommended to ensure adequate curing.
MULTIPLE RENDER COATS
Allow minimum 3 to 4 hours curing time before applying second and subsequent render coats.
• Allow 2 to 3 days curing per coat of render before applying texture or paint coatings.
PRIMER
The render coat must be primed prior to texture coating.
• Apply one coat of Rendertex Renderprime in strict accordance to Data Sheet. Rendertex renderprime covers up to 150 m2 per 15 litre pail.
• Allow Primer to dry before commencing following coats.
TEXTURE COATING
• Apply the selected Rendertex texture and follow the appropriate Product Data Sheet. Rendertex texture coatings can be tinted to a wide range of colours to bring colour to your project.
• Application must be carried out in a brisk uniform fashion, terminating only when a whole area or section is completely coated, for example, at an expansion joint or corner.
Do not texture over expansion or control joints.
• Rendertex texture coatings should not be extended (spread) too far; otherwise durability and/or hiding power may suffer. Coverage will depend on texture profile chosen. Please refer to data sheets for spread rates.
• Allow a minimum 48 hours before commencing the paint coat.
PROTECTIVE COATING
Painting of texture with Rendertex Rendershield or Armourguard is required to fully protect against water ingress, minimize dirt build up on the surface and to extend the life of the coating system. Refer to the appropriate Product Data Sheet.
• Rendertex Rendershield Low Sheen and Matt can be tinted to a wide range of colours.
• Armourguard Low Sheen can be tinted to a wide range of colours. Apply Rendertex Rendershield or Armourguard as detailed in the current version of the Product Data Sheet.
Coverage for Rendershield will be up to 4-6 m2 per litre depending on the profile of the texture. Coverage for Armourguard will be up to 10 m2 per litre depending on the profile of the texture.
RENDERTEX RENDERSHIELD CLEAR
To maintain the sparkly finish in Sovereign Quartz, Rendertex Rendershield Clear must be used.
Rendershield Clear covers up to 105 m2 per 15 litre pail.
Apply two coats of Rendershield Clear as per the Product Data Sheet.
