HAYDON SCHOOL YEARBOOK 2023

I have really enjoyed working with the year group over the last seven years. I hope that we have provided you with lots of fantastic opportunities to gain a wide range of experiences that will support you in the next stage of your lives. You are also a generation of students that have survived the Covid years of education! Through the many adaptations that we needed to make, you will have developed a significant number of skills that will help you in your future!
I wish I could turn the clock back and be 18 again! Whether you are going to university, starting work or taking a gap year there are so many inspiring opportunities available to you over the next few years. Please take the opportunity to join our Alumni programme and keep in touch - I always enjoy seeing former students again!
I know that you are all working extremely hard at the moment and wish you every success with your examinations.
Wishing you all every success in the future.
Goodbye and good luck!
Mr Jones HeadteacherYou have been a fantastic year group and I have enjoyed working with you in the Sixth Form. You have so many great offers and opportunities ahead of you, be that for university, advanced apprenticeships or the world of work. Your time in Sixth Form has flown by and many memories have been made. Highlights include the Sixth Formers lead performances in school productions such Les Miserables, students mentoring Year 7, “Year 12 Sports Day”, seeing so many of you working toward the Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award and the quizzes in the celebration assemblies! Seeing students get those university offers after all the hard work of perfecting your applications, as well as those who have been offered degree apprenticeships is such good news and provides you with an excellent platform for success going forward to the next chapter of your journey. I wish you all the best with your exams. Determination will get you there - I know how hard you have worked this year. I want to see all of you go to achieve your potential and secure a bright future. Such a talented bunch of students, whom I have the pleasure of working with.
Make the most of every opportunity, be kind and be the best version of yourself - remember to keep in touch with us. We look forward to hearing from you through our Haydon Alumni and of course celebrating with you at the ball.
Regards Miss
Year 13s!
What a year it’s been! I’ve really enjoyed being part of your Year Team - you’ve all been brilliant. You’ve worked hard, and again and again you’ve shown your abilities to overcome challenges. I’m very proud of you! I hope we’ve managed to help you get one step closer to your future goals. If you need anything down the line, please get in touch with the school - we’ll always be ready to support you!
The best way to predict your future is to create it, so good luck and all the best. I’ll certainly miss you all!
Mr Gohil Ms MeadI have thoroughly enjoyed working with you over the last academic year. You are a fabulous year group. As Year 13s you have maintained your sense of fun but have coupled it with a focus and drive to succeed which means you have every chance of making a great success of your summer examinations.
Having taught at Haydon for a very long time I can safely say that it has been one of my most enjoyable years, simply down to all of you putting in the hard work, allowing us all to be proud of your achievements. I’m proud to say that there are so many characters and personalities in this Year 13 group that you will be sorely missed.
I wish you every success in your future, whatever that may bring. I believe your time at Haydon has given you an excellent start in life. If you need anything at all please do not hesitate to get in contact, we will do all we can to help! We look forward to hearing about all your great success stories, both on A Level results day and subsequently your future careers.
All the best, Mr Gosling

It is mad to think that those little kids I met 7 years ago on our first day together, doing sargent drills during all those fire alarms, to see you all now turned into fully grown adults - it is quite scary. It has been a pleasure to finish out as your form tutor, and it has certainly been an experience! Wishing you all the very best luck in your exams, and your future endeavours!
It was lovely to spend some time with you all, even if it was relatively short. Wishing you all the best in your exams and in your futures. Take care. Mr Taylor
You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain’t about how hard ya hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done!-Rocky Balboa
Thank you google for helping me get through my Alevels, you were my best teacher

I cant see the future but i know its watching me
Im as suprised as you are that I lasted 2 years.
As your very part time, one year form tutor I would like to take this opportunity to thank Miss Watts for telling me what to do and when to do it. With her guidance I have managed to learn most of your names and how to operate the whiteboard in her room, albeit without the use of sound. I would like to wish you all the best in your future endeavours whatever they may be. Please let the perils of wisdom you have no doubt gathered from our pshe sessions guide you. Good luck and have fun.

We have a signal now, for when I’m needed. When that light hits the sky, it’s not just a call, it’s a warning. To them. Fear is a tool. They think I’m hiding in the shadows. But I am the shadows.
I would like to thank my arms for always being by my side, my legs for always supporting me, and my fingers, because I can always count on them :)

13EBW Where have these 2 years gone? Thank you for being an amazing form and keeping me on my toes. I know I’ve shared you over the two years with some other amazing staff but it’s been wonderful to see you grow and flourish. I remember fondly the weekly quiz in year 12, desperately trying to get some of you to participate and make a multiple choice decision as well as smashing the year 12 sports day. We welcomed our new members in year 13 as well as our new home located over the other side of the school. I’ve found our fortnightly PSHE lessons as fun as you have and I know you’ve missed having them in the last couple of weeks. Good luck in whatever you do, work hard and you’ll go far!
