CEREMONY
CIVIC CEREMONY SPACE
Year II | Project II
For this project, the brief was to design a celebration venue and restaurant on Sham Castle Hill, a historically significant site. In place of the traditional ceremony, with this scheme, I plan to design a modern ceremony where the focus is on the celebration of life and being present. This scheme is centred on the processional route, which will provide views across Bath and through the treeline around the site to create an introspective journey. Additionally, the materiality of the building has been designed to weather naturally so that over time it will blend in with the surrounding environment.
Preserving views from the top of the hill.
Celebration Space silhouette resembles the tree line.
Buildings divert off of processional path.
Circular seating - focus is on the ceremony.
Skyline walk path will run over the roof of the dining space.
Private gardens created by the negative space from the path.

BATHWICK FIELDS
TERRACED HOUSING SCHEME
Year II Project I
Due to its proximity to schools, shops, the city centre and public transportation for commuters, Bathwick Hill, a field to the east of Bath, was chosen as the site for this self-build residential scheme. Because Bath is an incredibly walkable city, the sustainable design contains two parking spaces for communal electric vehicles, whilst each terraced home has integrated bike storage. This design is built upon the foundation of an intergenerational community, as it is an established practice in other cultures, which has been shown to build more resilient neighbourhoods.

Located on a remote island off the North East coast of England, this live-work housing scheme serves as a stimulus for a new community and a place for the newly blind to regain independence. The bakery gives guests an opportunity to develop lifelong skills while acclimatising to their newly acquired impairment.

MUSIC BOX
TIMBER PAVILION
Year I | Project II
The therapeutic performing pavilion is designed as a place for university students to relax and express themselves through music.
I placed the structure in an under-utilised space on the site, thereby obtaining views without disrupting those from other buildings. The organic-curved structure mimics that of the amphitheatre and allows the building to wind through the landscape.

LEVITATION SCULPTURAL DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION
Year I | Project I
By definition, “levitation” is the ‘act of rising or causing something to hover in the air’. Our group aimed to emulate this sensation via a structure that allows two people’s weight to counteract each other. For this project, we were required to use an exact amount of given materials, while having a limited number of cuts. By experimenting with different angles and dimensions, we were able to express our interpretation of the theme within the given parameters.

PERSONAL WORK LINE DRAWING
During my free time, I enjoy learning about contemporary architecture, which is why I have begun drawing modern architecture that inspires me. In this series, I examine each structure and write about its history, construction and success to better understand what makes great architecture.
