Type: Penthouse
The penthouse residents were a family of five. The design brief’s key point was to have a modern design with natural materials. The client wanted to include the following features: a double height fireplace in the formal living room. Alongside that, they wanted separate formal and casual dining areas, show and dirty kitchens, a lounge area with a library and a family room which also serves as a playroom. Two highlighted features were to have the kitchen of the Italian brand Poliform & a walk-in closet in Master Bedroom.
Considering the client’s preference for wooden and cream tones, their keen interest in art collection, and high-end furniture, the design was tailored to reflect these tastes. The design includes a travertine fireplace for a grand look, marble elements, light oak flooring, and a doubleheight space for an impressive faux fireplace. Motion sensor automation, layered lighting, and a serene ambiance are integrated throughout the house.
The proposed furniture layout includes a TV unit and study area in each bedroom to accommodate the client’s school-going children. The formal living room on the ground floor is designed for guests, while the family room on the first floor offers a casual setting for intimate family evenings. The penthouse features a dirty kitchen and a show kitchen with a breakfast nook, on the ground floor. The show kitchen is adjacent to the main dining area.
The show kitchen design includes black wood veneers, Calacatta Viola marble, and a brass laminate accent hood. It features a wine cooler, built-in fridge, and an island with a sink and pop-up exhaust. A pendant light was proposed above the breakfast nook as a feature element. The dining area seats 8 guests, with room for expansion to accommodate the client’s love of hosting.
The project features a material palette of light oak wood, travertine and brass accents. Black and white marble tiles and Calacatta Viola marble provide elegant surfaces, while black wood veneer adds depth. Sage green fabric accents bring a touch of color and softness to the space.
Site: Villa Amalfi by Meraas, Jumeirah Bay Type: 3 villas (3 bedroom, 4 bedroom, 5 bedroom)
The 3 villas overlooking Jumeirah Beach, were meticulously designed, each identical in its embodiment of raw luxe or organic luxury. Commissioned by the client for family and friends’ holiday gatherings, the design of these residences featured outdoor pools and showcased high-end Italian furniture, embodying an organic luxe interior design concept. They offer a seamless blend of natural elements and refined aesthetics, providing an inviting retreat for relaxation and connection amidst luxurious surroundings, all the while enjoying the beach.
The design concept, based on the Raw Luxe theme, incorporates light oak wood, concealed LED accent lighting, natural stone like travertine, and bronze metal accents. This design theme is consistent throughout the house, featuring wooden wall cladding behind beds, light oak herringbone parquet floors, and wooden TV units.
The material palette for all 3 villas was kept the same as the client wanted all 3 to be designed in a similar manner.
Since the theme was inspired by Japandi paired with Contemporary, lots of light oak wood tones were used throughout. These were complemented with black metal, travertine & use of marble for accents.
The client wanted a built-in fridge installed so we proposed to do a symmetrical design where the fridge was part of the overall theme. On the right side we proposed a fridge and the rest were tall cabinets, with built in oven and microwave, concealed when not in use. A tea station, some drawers & some shelves for storage were also part of the tall cabinets.
For the
The living room features a full-wall TV unit with shelves, storage, LED lighting, and cabinets with doors. The proposed ceiling has slatted wood with trimless lights. Furniture in gorgeous burgundy tones and black accents was selected to complement the light oak veneer of the TV unit.

Type: High End Restaurant & Bar
Novikov Abu Dhabi is a luxurious restaurant and bar with Russian origins, offering a unique dining experience in the heart of the city. While the Dubai branch is known for its sleek and modern aesthetic, the Abu Dhabi location embraces a completely different design theme. Drawing inspiration from ancient Mayan architecture and heritage, the space is a vibrant blend of bold colors, intricate patterns, and rich textures. The design incorporates ambient lighting to create a moody and immersive atmosphere, offering guests a distinctive and captivating environment to enjoy world-class cuisine and cocktails.
Novikov Abu Dhabi was conceived to provide a luxurious dining experience that combines sophistication with liveliness, much like the Russian tradition of enjoying good food and drinks in an elegant yet vibrant atmosphere. The design of the space was developed around this concept, incorporating elements that reflect both opulence and energy. Bold, colorful materials such as Vitoria Regia marble and Red Travertine were carefully chosen to bring warmth and richness to the environment. These luxurious finishes, combined with intricate patterns and textures, create a visually dynamic space that enhances the ambiance.

Type: Furniture design
The brief was to redefine seating by using one of the themes: Arab Culture, Sustainability or Futuristic. I chose to work with Arab Culture & titled the project Marbuut. In Arabic it means bound. fastened together, coalescent. Marbuut is an ode to the value given to connection, hospitality and kinship in the Emirati Culture. It celebrates individuality as well as the coming together of a community where each individual is considered one part of a whole.
The idea for the design stemmed from the concept of the Majlis, a communal gathering space in Emirati culture where the community assembles to socialize, resolve problems, receive guests or engage in thoughtful conversations.
The setup consists of a floor seating arrangement often with repeated units.
The idea was to design a modular seating where one module can be attached to another to continue the chain. Inspiration: the essence of the Majlis, where individulas come together, forming one group.
The design of the module was inspired by patterns of Sadu, a traditional Emirati embroidery in geometric shapes, particularly triangles. Usually found on covers of Majlis seating.
The final form was selected to be a transparent square with 1 side made of an opaque material to give hierarchy.
2 sides (one transparent, one opaque) were to have patterned surfaces derived from triangles of Sadu.
The pattern was derived using computational modelling.
Red clay (mixed with binders) - locally sourced.
Reasoning:
• Inspired by sand dunes of the desert.
• Sustainable
• Strength
Acrylic - easily sourced.
Reasoning:
• Transparency - to show joining of one module with another depicting the human connection in majlis.
• Strength
• Stiffness
• Easy to fabricate
A) Dovetail Interlocking Joints: To join acrylic sheets
B) Mould/Cast/CNC Milling: For shape and patterns of the clay
Patterns derived from Sadu shown in all the elevations. The patterns on the opaque side are extruded outwards with geometric scoring done on the backside. Fluidity of the clay depicting sand dunes of the desert.
