The Elgiva is owned, managed and funded by Chesham Town Council

Welcome

from David Cooper, Manager The festive season is well and truly upon us and what better way to greet the holidays than by treating yourself to some of the best music and theatre around, here at The Elgiva? Christmas shopping for the family made easy! Our stunning new Christmas panto “Cinderella” is a great way to start. For the first time, New Pantomime Productions bring their glittering traditional family panto to The Elgiva offering West End sets and costumes plus a live band! To top it off, we have an absolutely amazing cast, led by Tom Owen from “Last of the Summer Wine” and Ben Moseby from Mix 96 Radio. Music is a great way to shake off the winter blues and “Special Kinda Madness” bring their exuberance to the theatre in January. The hugely popular Silent Disco returns to The Elgiva and there is the opportunity to get up close and personal with one of our finest drummers, Mark Brzezicki, in his Drum Clinic show. The Chiltern Film Society with their excellent programme of art house and foreign language films complements our selection of films including “Aeronauts”, “Sorry We Missed You” and the ultimate Christmas gift “It’s A Wonderful Life” accompanied by a choir, mince pies and mulled wine. We continue to develop our live screen events programme with the quality of The Royal Opera House’s “Don Giovanni”, The Royal Ballet’s “The Sleeping Beauty”, Kenneth Branagh’s “The Winter’s Tale” starring Judi Dench, the West End hit “Kinky Boots and the perennial favourite André Rieu. New for this spring, we are excited to host a series of quality exhibitions featuring work by talented photographic artists Matt Kirby, Marie Constantelli and Matt Writtle. The New Year also sees the launch of The Elgiva Youth Programme. This is a series of activities for children of all ages – from storytelling for the under-fives, to circus skills for our teenage audience. For more details on all our activities, please keep an eye on our website and follow us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Heartfelt thanks must go to our staff and volunteers who work so hard to ensure that your experience is the very best that it could be. A special mention must also go to Chesham Town Council and to you, our supporters, without whom this fabulous venue simply wouldn’t exist.

Any parents or guardians with children aged under 24 months must purchase a ‘babe in arms’ ticket at a cost of £2 and sit on the guardian’s lap. Babies will only be admitted to U or PG films. Twenty booster seats are available for small children, on a first come first served basis. Children under 14 must be supervised at all times at a ratio of not less than 1 adult per 10 children. The Elgiva Theatre reserves the right to ask parents/supervisors to remove children if, in the opinion of the management, they are causing a disturbance. A family ticket constitutes a group of four tickets made up of 1 adult and 3 child or 2 adult and 2 child tickets. Latecomers will not be admitted until a suitable break in the performance, so as to minimise disruption to other patrons. The Elgiva Theatre reserves the right to provide alternative seats to those specified on the ticket in exceptional circumstances. The taking of photographs, the use of mobile phones and mobile devices and the making of any recordings of any performance is strictly prohibited unless otherwise specified. By purchasing a ticket, you consent to be photographed or filmed as part of a group. Strobe lighting, smoke effects, loud bangs, gunshots, loud sound effects and smoking are sometimes used in Elgiva Theatre productions. The Elgiva has a no smoking policy throughout the building. This includes e-cigarettes. The Elgiva Theatre reserves the right to refuse admission to the Elgiva Theatre and site.
