National Day of Action May 29, 2008 Victoria Right: Hesquiaht Chief Councillor Joe Tom gave an impassioned speech calling upon Canadians to push their politicians to resolve First Nations’ concerns. “Words after words after words,” he said Aboriginal people have had from government for 150 years, “but no action;” no delivery of what is needed for our people to be self-sufficient.
