Welcome to Saquatucket Marina, Launched in 2018, the Seaside Marketplace is a cooperative effort by the Harwich Harbormaster and Harwich Cultural Center to promote the creative economy in Harwich.

We have an exciting group of vendors this summer offering a wide variety of goods including local photography, Cape Cod décor, hand-made jewelry, family apparel, fine art, and more.

Seaside Marketplace is open daily from June 30 through September 7, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. With new vendors each week, plan to visit more than once!

My Local MA is a statewide campaign sponsored by the Massachusetts Office of Travel and Tourism (MOTT) to encourage residents to choose local when they shop, dine, and travel. Launched on tax-free weekend, My Local MA has reached thousands of consumers across the Commonwealth and is making inroads in both traditional and social media. Together we’re sending a clear message to our community: Put your money where your heart is – right here in Massachusetts, right here at the Seaside Marketplace.

ALL ABOUT SEA GLASS Paula Fedele began her journey as an artisan in 1996 with glass beads and precious stones. All About Sea Glass now includes sea glass from her travels around the world. Each piece of sea glass is inspected and sorted by size, perfection, and color. Every creation is created by hand.

ART FROM THE HEART Harwich artist Chris Banks – Art From The Heart has an extensive background in oil, watercolor, and acrylic on many surfaces including canvas, oyster shells, barrel staves, and more. Banks’ playful summertime painting “Sailing with the Sharks” is this season’s featured cover art. You’ll also find one of her murals painted near the Snow Goose Gift Shop in Harwich Port.

BABY SEAL STUDIO Baby Seal Studio creates whimsical art for babies and kids. The colorful multimedia animal prints have been a hit on Cape, (selling in limited stock at Where the Sidewalk Ends Bookstore in Chatham), with several remarking that the prints have an Eric Carle-feel to them. Prints are available framed and unframed.

CAPE LIFE BRAND COMPANY

Harwich-based Cape Life Brand Company is a lifestyle and apparel brand based on the unique culture and experience of Cape Cod. They offer apparel, stemware, koozies, stickers, and more.

Open Daily 10 AM—6 PM C~BREEZE TREASURES Joining the marketplace for a third season is West Yarmouth-based artist Annie Cochran.

C~Breeze Treasures’ handcrafted jewelry and pottery pieces are inspired by the beauty that is Cape Cod. The beachy colors of semi-precious stone beads, recycled glass beads that resemble sea glass, and the pottery glazes reflect the beach vibe.

DAWN ROSELL DESIGNS

Dawn Rosell Designs features wire wrap and sheet metal jewelry with unique gemstones.

You’ll find silver, gold, rose gold, and copper with high-quality gems, shells, and pearls along with a selection of cultured and natural sea glass.

ELLEN DAVIES A renter at the Harwich Cultural Center, Ellen Davies is an acrylic and encaustic painter.

Davies is a member of the Chatham Guild of Painters, a member of Chatham Creative Art Center for 30 years, and a member of The Cape Cod Art Center in Barnstable. Fanciful Garden Art by Ellen Davies and Gail Hickey will be on view and available for sale July 21 - 27.

JESSICA DUBOIS

A native of Cape Cod, Jessica DuBois is primarily a Cape land and seascape painter but her work also includes etching, decoupage, and small sewing projects. While at the Seaside Marketplace, you’ll find her jewelry, custom pillows, as well as prints and paintings. Besides her creative works, DuBois is active in charity events and volunteering with the Chatham Shark Center, Provincetown Pilgrim Bark Park, MSPCA, and Wild Care.

KIM GAGNE PAINTINGS For the last six years, Kim Gagne’s focus has been on painting the landscape, “The beauty of the land and being in nature provides me with great joy and painting it is the perfect way for me to spend my days.” Gagne rents a shared working studio space at the Harwich Cultural Center.

HIGH TIDE DESIGNS Designed and created by Carol Kucha-Stone, High Tide Design sells Harwich and local Cape Cod apparel including t-shirts and sweatshirts in adult and child sizes. This season High Tide Designs debuts two new fishing motifs and a new Saquatucket embroidered hat. Don’t forget to pick one up!

You’ll find High Tide Designs throughout the summer season in the Herring River Artist Shack.

KELSEY-KENNARD PHOTOGRAPHY

Kelsey-Kennard Photography joins the Seaside Marketplace for the third season, showcasing the beauty of Cape Cod to all that visit us. Their work features aerial photography from the 1960s to the present as well as scenic Cape Cod photography.

LEAH BY THE SEA Harwich artist Leah Dewey is a nautical artist focused on the fishing community. She works in acrylic and mixed oil with drift frames, and mixed medium with an impressionist style. You can often find Leah By The Sea at the MacMillan Pier Trap Shed Program in Provincetown. This is her first season at the Seaside Marketplace.

LILLEY PHOTOGRAPHY Returning to the Seaside Marketplace for a third season is Harwich local, Lilley Photography. A dynamic duo, Ed is the photographer and printer while Sue is the magician who makes his prints look good and manages their business. Lilley Photography offers photography on canvas, metal, and giclee on paper.

MARTHA LITTLE FUENTES Martha Little Fuentes works primarily in oils.

Her love of portraiture and the human form can be seen in paintings of people working in the local fishing industry. Paintings of beach scenes and sea life on aluminum, copper and wood have been inspired by the beauty of Cape Cod. Little Fuentes long-time studio renter at the Harwich Cultural Center, this will be her first year participating at the Seaside Marketplace.

MADDIE & CONNOR CO.

From Canton, Sara Feeney is a mother of two, a classic children’s clothing designer, and the owner of Maddie & Connor Co., a clothing brand featuring classic, preppy styles for babies and young children. Many of Maddie & Connor’s collections feature New Englandthemed prints, embroidery and smocking, and are inspired by visits to the Cape every year!

NATURE'S ARTISTRY Artist Linda Popper uses only farm-raised organics to craft eco-responsible jewelry and one-of-a-kind creations incorporated with recycled metals to promote sustainability. Her work is “Ecologically responsible, naturally beautiful.” Nature’s Artistry can be found locally at Reciprocity Artisans Market in Harwich Port and The Cape Cod Museum of Art in Dennis.

ON THE FRINGE

On The Fringe is celebrating 20 years of “protecting tables worldwide.” Find their handmade, travel, music, and TV-themed coasters and trivets, embedded with original vintage paper this summer at the Seaside Marketplace. SHARON RIEBOLD

From West Dennis, Sharon Riebold paints birds and fish of Cape Cod and the northeast. At the Seaside Marketplace this summer, Riebold will be selling matted prints of her original paintings of over 37 different birds and fish, along with other regional artwork.

NANCY RORTY West Harwich maker Nancy Rorty creates handmade beach and tote bags, potholders, oven mitts, table runner and napkin sets, and nautical pillows. You’ll also find her unique first or new home ornaments made from antique skeleton keys, charms, and cute birdcage mobiles made from fabric scraps for a child’s room.

WILDFLOWER STUDIOS South Yarmouth artist Sharon DiGennaro of Wildflower Studios offers a variety of unique handmade items including one-of-akind dyed silk scarfs, jewelry, mixedmedia pottery, and wall art. When open to the public, DiGennaro offers classes in silk scarf dying in her Harwich Cultural Center studio. Find her work locally at Reciprocity Artisans Market in Harwich Port and The Artists Colony Gift Shop in West Harwich.

Apply online at harwich-ma.gov Through creative repurposing of the former 78,000 sq. ft. middle school building, the Harwich Cultural Center currently has 40 studio rooms. The center is a cooperative effort between the Town and our greatest resource - the creative, local individuals that help to make our town a destination for visitors from around the world. The building provides valuable “launch space” where individuals can actualize their creative gifts and contribute to the local economy.

DAVID M. CRAVENHO is a new member of the Harwich Cultural Center and an artist currently working on Cape Cod. His visual art has appeared at Berta Walker Gallery in Provincetown, the Cotuit Center for the Arts, and the Cultural Center of Cape Cod in Yarmouth. He received a B.F.A. from UMass Dartmouth, an M.F.A. from Rochester Institute of Technology, and an M.S.A.E. from Massachusetts College of Art. He is the recipient of Artist in Residencies from the Banff School of Fine Arts, Alfred University, and the Archie Bray Foundation, among others.

He has taught for the University of Georgia in Cortona, Italy and for Massachusetts College of Art, and currently serves as Arts Editor for the Cape Cod Poetry Review.

A Best New Poets, Pushcart, and Best of the Net nominee, John Bonanni is a Cape Cod based writer who founded the Cape Cod Poetry Review in 2011. His own poems have appeared in Foglifter, North American Review, Prairie Schooner, Hobart, and Gulf Coast, among others. His book reviews have appeared in DIAGRAM, Tupelo Quarterly, and the Kenyon Review. His research on poetry as an intervention for writing attitudes among learners with severe disabilities can be found in The Graduate Review (Bridgewater State University).
