facility for the promotion and communication of
Sake bridges Fushimi and Kumihama, two distant cities in Kyoto Prefecture
diverse vision through visibility / invisibility
Creating spaces with a sense of depth by varying the position and thickness of columns.
"Toriniwa" as an intermediate area linking public and private life
A sense of depth and unusualness by using an idea of the traditional "Toriniwa" of a Kyomachiya townhouse.

interaction occurs through crossed lines of sight
Through the earthen floor (”Doma”) , individual lives blur to the outside.
steps create inflection in actions and feelings
Different levels of floors separated by earthen floors (”Doma”) create a variety of movements.
depth enriches the flow of life
With no depth, motions stay stagnant.
the slope of the roof creates a front and a back
Comfortable spaces are created by the existance of “private” and “public”. The roof express the direction of an openness to the community.

the old structure connect inside and outside gently
The spaces between RC structure and wooden structure become intermediate spaces which contain planting trees.
glass paint makes waterproofing possible and creates beautiful views with old structures
Looking the wooden structure itself must be rare and beautiful experience.
1st Floor feels like a more spacial place by putting all the necessary functions of life in the ground floor
cliants can enjoy the bath and shower even though the bathroom is small
The floor for the shower room becomes bathtub and the steps become a bench.
