The Jackson Family

Portrait of Life Order of Service Precious Memories

Haywood (Shannon) Gaines III was born on April 9th, 1969; raised in a loving home by his mother Diane Jackson and his father Haywood Gaines Jr., along with his sister Veelas (Alicia) Gaines and brother Ellenwood (Patches) Gaines.

Haywood’s character shined bright in every room. His positive energy was contagious, in which he was known for his hilarious personality and caring heart among friends and family.

Haywood accepted Christ in his life in 1990 and was a member at Jersey Village Church of Christ as well as Sugar Land Church of Christ, where he was welcomed and loved with open arms. Through many trials and tribulations, brother Haywood still kept Christ within him and encouraged his friends and family to also do the same.

He attended high school at Spring Wood High and continued to pursue his dreams, studying cosmetology while also receiving his license. He used his talents in the beauty industry to help people bring out their utmost confidence and beauty. He dedicated his career at Salon Park for several years alongside his little sister Lisa, who also worked in the beauty industry. Haywood used his talents and personality to uplift those around him.

Although Haywood did not have children, he devoted his life to being a role model to his nieces and nephews, calling them “His babies”. He enjoyed being around his friends, family, and close loved ones and never failed to make someone laugh… “What you Talkin”.

Haywood was preceded in death by his loving grandmother, Laura Watson; his little sister, Veelas (Alicia) Gaines Adrian, and his two aunts; Michelle Watson and Antoinette Watson.

He leaves to adore his loving memory: his mother, Diane Jackson; his father, Haywood Gaines Jr.; his brother, Ellenwood (Patches) Gaines; along with his nieces and nephews, his dearest friends, beloved extended family members, and his church family.
