Christmas Reading Suggestions 2024 Whole School

CHRISTMAS READING 2024

Welcome to my eclectic list of books for the winter holidays. These have been put together to offer suggestions for presents or just to read for fun over the holidays there is no obligation to read any or all of them.

Each page is devoted to a different genre of book or age or reader, as well as a page of some of this year ’s Emirates Airline Festival of Literature authors. Jack Meggitt Phillips will be coming to Hartland to speak to Year 4, 5, 6 and 7 so it would be wonderful if lots of people had read his books before he arrives. They are listed in order on page 6.

A word of caution! While I recommend these books because I know them to be some of the best around, I have not read them all many are newly published and therefore I want to remind you to check the books you buy first to ensure that you are happy with your children reading them and they are age and stage appropriate all children are different. We make every effort to ensure that all the books we have in the library and recommend in these pages do not contain anything that is not allowed in the UAE but it is almost impossible to check everything, and sometimes books slip through the net. It is your responsibility to make sure that the books your children are reading (and the films, shorts and TikToks they are watching) are appropriate and do not contain anything you don’t want them to read or see.
